Our deck was old and falling apart. A new plan has been put in place for a concrete patio extending past the original deck area. Today was day one-deck demo (our contractor is working on ours nights and weekends). One copperhead was found under the deck steps. Yikes! No sign of the opossum I see regularly coming out from below the deck.
It’s a love/hate thing … you hate to tear the old down and have to pay for the replacement but generally, in the end, it’ all worth it. Nice outside space is a gift that keeps giving back.
