All big spiders are called Boris in our household. However this one was guarding a nest of babies and was very loathe to move after we'd disturbed her resting place moving the patio table.

I am surprised at how hairy her bum is!

Apologies to all arachnophobes- I know I've asked Ross in the past for a spider warning button. I loathe spiders and was glad of a long lens but I still got bravely close- things I do for my 365 addiction!

I like your Boris-atude! I try to show all spiders who show up inside where the beautiful outdoors is so that they might have a better choice of food. Outside I let them be. I am fascinated by them but up usually from a distance. Hope her brood does well.
