Today I learnt processing to black and white is NOT that easy!
For AYWMC it's take12 pictures in one day, and on a walk at the local marshes I took photos with a view to convert to BnW and learn more Affinity tools. I had no idea how strong yellow is as a colour in processing to monochrome
there are different coloured filters you can use in silverefex which can subdue or brighten parts of the image that are different colours, this is a simulation of using the coloured glass filters screwed to the camera lense as black and white film photographers used to do. some cameras have this function in-camera. perhaps your software has something like it tucked away somewhere?
Nice pictures. I learn something every day. Thanks for your information about the color yellow. I will keep that in kind when I start adventuring in black and white :)
They are all very nice. I really enjoy black and white photography. When I was teaching myself I found putting the camera into monochrome mode and trying to remember the settings was helpful.
@momamo sorry Monique, it's a photography course A Year With My Camera. I really enjoyed it and am repeating parts of it I skimmed through. Free on line basic through to advanced!!
Lovely collage. When processing to b&w, I always have a problem choosing filters. I think it takes some time to evaluate the results. After two days I like a different edition than the first day.
@haskar I had sliders to move @wakelys thanks sue, it was less crowded than on our walk there @salza knowing me I'd forget to put settings back and have a record setting colourful rainbow and miss it!! @theredcamera Emma D says embrace the weather and lens you have with you!! @grammyn you're too kind, and yes all in South of England!! @dutchothotmailcom it vould be because green is blue and yellow and it's mainly plants??? @kali66 mum had a yellow filter she put on her Rolleiflex lenses!! @fbailey Affinity is getting easier, in fact processing is getting more comfortable
Nice collage. I wonder if using the histogram will help you on capture, by making adjustments in camera to manage the yellow. I've been recently practicing using the exp comp button to do this.
Hi Jackie, I'm learning so much from looking at your past GP challenges. I like your approach to try new things and the comments very useful. So my confession is it's me who is looking back. I hope you don't mind getting these notifications.
Like Elena, you inspire me to try 12 shots a day 👍
( could you maybe explain what aywmc stands for ?)
