I was challenged to find a subject and take 20 (Only 20!!!!!??) shots from all angles and perspectives without moving said object and compile a collage.
I immediately thought of Eastney Barrack's Yomper who stands guard over The Solent. I've driven past him countless times, but to walk around him and see the detail on him was a privilege. Even the webbing on his rifle harness has texture.
I wasn't able to do a collage of 20 photographs, so here's 19 views of him @stephanies. I had no chance of moving him (well the council tried recently and failed!). Hope this is what you had in mind. I really enjoyed this challenge as I had to think and plan ahead, choose lenses and focal lengths and angles to shoot from and then the difficulty in picking the shots for the collage (and spotting those I picked twice!!) .
@stephanies Here you go, thank you very much for this challnge- as it really was a a push on my abilities for framing and PoVs.
@365anne Blimey Anne that was a quick response!! Thank you so very much. It was such an interesting challenge to do as the lighting changes as you move around and as you can see from the sky the weather changes if you take too long!!
@quietpurplehaze thank you. Did think could be a bit jingoistic, but made the original photo so iconic so made sure to include it, when the wind didn't blow it out of shot!
Well done, your choose a good subject and I can see you used a variety of perspectives and angles, I like how you compiled the collage and I especially like the back shot. I am glad too that you enjoyed this push and found it helpful.
What a fantastic effort and sculpture, each image conveying its beauty in fine detail, has to be an instant Fav, you only missed out on the full frontal aspect of the statue to complete the challenge Jackie:)
