The annual Boxing Day rowing race took place on the Emsworth mill pond. Prizes for best costume, decorations and being placed.
I paid a handsome sum (£1.49) for my santa costume, nicked the tinsel and baubles from another participant and prayed I wouldn't fall in.
I told the organisers of the race I wasn't very confident, hadn't SUPed since the summer so I had a good handicap start and odds of 50 to 1 to finish. In retrospect I wasnt too bad afterall!!
I won a bottle of M&S Buck's Fizz and the shocked admiration of many people who didn't bet on me!!

What a hoot!! And a very professional approach as to improving your odds!! Excellent return on your 1.49 pound outlay P.S. How do you get a pound symbol into your post? I don't have a pound symbol on my laptop! :)
