Pass to the West

Tim challenged me to do an 'action shot' of sport, childen in a park or fast moving animals. I don't 'do' sport, I don't own any children to take to a park and He refused to throw The Lodger Cat up in the air.

I hope Tim approves of my interpretation with the harbour master at Bosham whizzing off.

It's my day to upload to The Darkroom, if you fancy seeing a riskier shot go have a look.
@tdaug80 here you go Tim.

I guess they wouldn't be a challenge if you didn't have to work hard at an interpretation hahaha great result!

Well, boating is a sport. I like the wake the two boats left in the water.

Great action and movement in the water.

You have definitely achieved action. I think the harbour master needs either longer arms or a bigger boat though.

Glad the cat survived another day.

Looks like an action shot to me :)

The wake of the boat conveys the action in this photo. There are lots of ways to show action. You can pan on the moving subject to blur the background, or do the reverse, keep the camera still to blur the subject. Here the turbulence of the water shows the motion.
The composition might have been improved if the boat had some room in the frame to move into. Maybe not. With the boat leaving the frame, it does tell the story of leaving, which he certainly is doing. Good response to the challenge.

@tdaug80 thank you Tim, this just didn't work with panning!! J did crop it intentionally this way, it didn't look right in centre, and I wanted it yo look like he was leaving. I really enjoyed looking for action shot opportunities and this was the best
