Spot the Difference (s)?!

There's a vague similarly between the pattern and end result a bit like my cooking sometimes resembles the picture in a recipe book.
Well, I say well done! I wouldn’t even get close to the pattern — probably would buy the kit and never get around to starting.

did you start in the middle and counted your squares? you miscounted on the little puppy on the left and that is the one difference that stands out. if this is your first time, it's still a job well done. if my eyes weren't so bad now i'd go back to cross stitching. it is one of the most relaxing hobby i ever had. keep up the good work.

@summerfield of coourse I didn't!!!! But it is relaxing, and I do find I need very bright lights to see what I'm doing in the evening!! Had fun doing this and for next one I will mark the middle and cound better.
(oh that puppy is a kitten!!!! lol hahaha!)
@linnypinny Thank you Lin, thought I'd show the muddle of threads too as I'm very untidy!
@mcsiegle the two kits have been sat on the mantle-piece for a few weeks! Thanks Mary

I wouldn't every know where to start!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond - puppy, kitten, they both make me sneeze! 😜 also, you should use a highlighter to mark out on the pattern the squares you already stitched.

The holly just wanted to be closer to the puppy. As far as my cooking, it never looks like the cookbook!

Well done! I'd be totally unable to do it

I loved the long conversations while embroidering. But then there were no computers yet.

When you following a pattern you are producing something that 100’s of others have done. I like that you have put your own unique twist on your cute piece of work. 😉

As the Amish say, "only God is perfect." Besides mistakes are design features. I like the close up of the cross stitch and threads. Nice textures and patterns.

I take my hat off to you still being able to see enough to even attempt such things, well done!
November 10th, 2020
That's a great start and I can see Santa's hat. I would love to do this but my eyes say no.

You are moving along! Such fine work...well done

I am impressed that you are already finished! Well done! It’s been years since I’ve done anything like this and don’t think I would even attempt it today so you are way ahead of me already! I like how you have composed the photo to show the thread, the pattern, and the finished product.
