I challenged my partner to compose a vanitas still life. These are full of symbolism of humans' transience and mortality, hence the burning and unlit candles, a refracted skull, decaying flowers, dried wheat ears, the running hour glass,an open compass, the book and fossicked finds.
This is great! I've never heard these still life's called this. So interesting! I will research this and try to emulate it myself. I learn so much from you! So great you found all these around your house. I collect "stuff" from second hand stores to photograph.
