First the bad - someone stole my zoom lens. That's why that eagle in the sky is so itty bitty. And ... my wide angle lens quit working! After consulting with my camera guy I determined it would be too expensive to fix it - better to buy a new one. So I have upgraded and will use my new lens for the first time tomorrow. I bought a Sigma super zoom 18-300. Just one lens to carry around and I am hoping it is sharp at all focal points. You can help me decide as I post photos:)
So sad to read about the lens problems, but what a great solution! I have a 28-300 lens (the Nikon version) and really love it. It's my go-to walkaround lens. Sharpness with mine isn't great at either extreme, and it's a bit slow, but I think you'll be happy overall to have the flexibility.
So very sorry about the lenses! I have an 18 - 140 "walkabout" and love it outdoors. Shutter speed is not slow enough for much good use indoors, though. Look forward to seeing shots with your new lens.
Lovely shot of the bird. I like all the negative space, makes the bird appear really wild. Sorry to hear about your lens, but happy that you have a new toy to play with!
Oh I hate to hear that about losing your lens! That's awful. (It will be fun to play with a new lens though - be watching to see what you post!) This is a nice shot of the eagle though.
@alia_801@kwind@littleconnie@milaniet Thanks for feeling my pain:) I have had enough time to accept the loss and am delighted with my new lens so far. My husband bought it for me!
Ohhhhhhhhhh
I am the eagle I live in high country
In rocky cathedrals that reach to the sky . . . . .
I bought the Tamron 16-300 when I got a new camera 12 months ago and as a general purpose lens, I love it. It covers so many situations without the need to change lenses. The purists may find faults with it in some situations but in 95% of photos, it is great.
@terryliv I like the poem! Yes, I used my new lens on an excursion yesterday and it was great not having to change the lens. I am certainly not a purist so it should work just fine! My zoom was a Tamron and I loved it and the 6 year warranty. The Sigma was a little cheaper and recommended by someone I trust. Only a 1 year warranty though. Time will tell if I made a good decision. It sometimes comes back to bite me when I try to save a little money:)
It make you mad when someone steal from you.
