Here Comes The Bride

I had a lovely morning viewing a Bridal Exhibition at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, Windsor, NSW.
The exhibition is part of The Doris Darnell Collection, a Quaker from Pennsylvania. So many interesting dresses & accessories. This wedding dress was from 7th October 1925, when Emma Taylor married Edward Jacob.
Looking forward to seeing the exhibition this week. I even submitted a copy of our wedding photo. Not sure if it was used

I didn't know anything about The Doris Darnell Collection so I looked it up online. It's amazing that this collection has grown to over 8000 pieces representing 32 different countries and is considered the largest private vintage clothing collection in Australia. Wow! Terrific shot of this beautiful wedding dress.
High tea on March 9th sounds delightful . . . I wish I could join you. :-)

@gaylewood yes, a wonderful collection. We are very lucky to have it here in our local area. Feel free to come down under for the high tea. Bring some cooler weather with you please. I have spare beds.

Thanks everyone. It was so nice to see the dresses from the late 1800s to a few years ago. Maybe we could do a virtual high tea? I'll post some photos of the day. @dyanstevens @onewing @brennieb @carole_sandford @tibles

@megpicatilly no, it's not the same dress in the photo. The photo gives a sense of the time just at the end of WW1. Thankyou for commenting.
