Century old Station homestead, now a museum on the bank of the river below

This old house is on Woodleigh Cattle Station, Outback Queensland. They are blessed with spring water in the river below, but the rest of the property is very dry indeed. They have the most amazing garden around the homestead with orchids, bird of Paradise And many other flowers. It is such a delightful oasis in the parched dry land.

Love this scene, Margo! This is exactly how landscaping is done in New Mexico. Here the term for it is xeriscaping, and the result can be so charming, as this is.
