Today has been crazy busy, and it ended with me going for physical therapy.......I hate going, and the physical therapist I'm sure hates me......she's tough......I think she was a prison warden in a previous life.....today I thought she was going to break one of my ribs lol, so on the way back home, I grabbed some roses.......so pretty!
Originally from the UK, but now living in the US, I'm a Jewelry Designer/Metalsmith who has an unhealthy obsession with 80's music.

Absolutely lovely - gosh what a great color. LOL - my plan was to get some flower shots today but I just didn't care for them much so I went with plan B. Sorry to hear of the PT, blech that doesn't sound fun.
@cazann@cazann the pt is the complete opposite of me. She's older, but in way better shape. She's gungho about skiing, and hikiing, and walking, and yoga....I remember her asking me did I exercise, and I do, but it's minimal.....I'm sure she's disgusted when I walk in clutching my bucket of coffee and chocolate ;-)
@hueymilunz thank you :-) @vega isn't that always the way.....if I plan anything, it never works out, but I'm sure you'll get some great shots you'll love :-) I was hoping to try and practise portraits, but Aaron wasn't having any of it....he got told off at the after school Lego club for telling jokes and laughing.....he wasn't a happy camper when I picked him up, so portraits were a no no :-) @paulie thanks Paul :-)
@allisonraposa poor little guy - seems to me the after school Lego club would be an ideal place to laugh and tell jokes !?! BTW you are so lucky to have a young one at home to enjoy and OMG I used to love playing Lego's with my daughter :)
@vega I know......I signed him up for it thinking it would be a good way for him to socialise with his friends after school. He seems happier now after a good chit chat, and a Godzilla movie.....Godzilla cures everything ;-) @hh lolol you're too kind, Kate......thank you so much :-)
Your photos are always so beautiful. You have a way of taking everyday things, and make them something special. Love this! Sorry about your PT, maybe she needs some coffee! lol
I love the soft feel to this. What lens did you use? What settings? there is no exif so I guess you emailed it in or it was wiped by processing software
@dandelionmama lol I think so.......thank you Shandy :-) @espyetta I made the diptich in PicMonkey so the exif got erased, but I used my 60mm lens and had it wide open 2.8 for the photo on the left, and the 50mm for the photo on the right, and probably had it wide open on 1.8, and used one of the filters over at PicMonkey :-) @pdulis really appreciated....thank you so much Peter :-) @kwind thank you :-) @bill_fe lol thanks Bill :-) @barrie77 thank you so much Barrie :-) @hopess13 thank you Rachel :-) @mtpagano many thanks Michelle :-) @my_photofun thank you so much...very much appreciated :-) @kerenmcsweeney thank you Keren :-) @stacypie thank you Stacey :-) @mzzhope thank you thank you.......hope you're starting to feel a bit better :-) @nanderson thank you Nancy :-) @taffy thank you :-) @fearlessdailies thank you :-) @shepherdmanswife very much appreciated...thank you :-) @lauramalone82 thank you so much! :-) @nchild many thanks Nikki :-) @neakwagener they are pretty.....I have a feeling I'll be taking another couple of shots of them over the next couple of days...thank you :-) @maychy thank you :-) @dclics much better....she may have been tough, but I feel looser than I have in a long time.....thank you :-)
I forgot to fav it! So so so so pretty. And soft. and pretty. and pink. and "Pretty in Pink" to quote the movie title. hee hee sorry, I was on a ramble. Thanks for your info. I use pikmonkey too at times. I forgot it strips it. I figured a 50 mm/1.8 was involved on this shot...Love my lens of that type
Wonderful diptych! And you're too funny! Don't worry, my husband said the same of his therapist. He is recovering from a car crash (4 years ago) and still is in pain - but getting better because of the prison warden. ;)
How about that, I went to see the physio today too, mine was a nice (American) lady though...............and on my way home I stopped off and bought.....................beer! :)
@kass lol I'm glad to hear the PT is helping your husband.....must have been a bad crash :-( I joke about how tough this PT is, but she is good......by the time I finish, I'll be as flexible as an Olympic gymnast :-) @nataliacastillejo thank you Natalia :-) @jpgiorgio thank you so much JP.....I hope you have a wonderful weekend :-) @bluefirebucket beer!!!!! lol Must have been good to get out. Yesterday I was telling Sean that I was born at Park Hospital in Davyhulme....same hospital as Morrissey :-) Yes, the camera survived, although I have been looking at cameras, although if I decide to buy, I'll hold off until Summer. Glad you're on the mend......enjoy that beer, and have a fab weekend :-)

Just catching up. Hang in there on the PT. I'm going too. It's not pleasant, but hopefully worthwhile, right? Don't let the prison warden get the best of you. You've captured the layers of the rose petals beautifully. Love it!
What a nice pick-me-up, and a refreshing end to a busy and tiring day. These roses are such a nice, soft pink. One of my New Year's resolutions is to make a special effort to perform an act of kindness, or to do something nice, for my mom at least one per week. I think my fall-back is going to be giving her a single silk flower stem each week, so she'll eventually have a collection that lasts forever. I hope I cam find some as beautiful as these (although your are real :o).
@gratefulness that's such a wonderful idea and a lovely thing to do for your mum, Sandi. You can find real silk flowers that are just if not more beautiful than the real thing, and as you said, they last forever :-)
