Chipmunk by AshleyMiller

Chipmunk

photo 142
I know this picture doesn't seem that impressive, but I was almost halfway across the yard when I took this so I am happy with it lol. There are atleast 2 chipmunks that live in the yard and this is one of them. They love to climb onto the birdfeeders, run around the outside of the railing on the deck, or along the bottom of the fence in the backyard. I was on the deck last night and one of them came within 2 feet of me on his way around, I am not sure if he noticed me there or not. They are funny to watch, especially when they have their cheeks stuffed full of sunflower seeds. But they are destructive too. They will chew through wood and wires. They even tried to make a nest in the air filter in my mother in law's vehicle!

I am not sure why this picture has yesterday's date on it, I think I need to adjust the time setting on my camera lol.

Today is also 3 weeks since my husband and I quit smoking and we are doing great! :)

Chipmunks are definitely cool! We don't have them in my neck of the woods, just squirrels and such. Good capture!

OHMY! Good capture!!! I have a chipmunk hanging around my house that I have been trying and trying to get take of! This is too funny! I might be successful one of these days, but so fart they are all blurry! I had no idea of the destruction that they do....thanks for that information. I may need to watch this!

Thanks guys! I never saw a chipmunk in my life before a couple of months ago when we moved here so I am fascinated with them! They are hard to get a clear picture of because they are so fast! I just got really lucky for this one :)

This is great! I saw another chipmunk a few days ago. I have never been fortunate enough to capture one of these guys on photo. One of these day I'll get one. Beautiful photo. And congrats on getting to three weeks with no cigs. I haven't overcome that yet, though I know I must. Keep it up!

Thanks Rick! The 3 things that have really helped is chewing any regular gum, eating sunflower seeds and reading the sad stories on www.whyquit.com At first I didn't think I would be able to stick to it but its not bad at all. The first week is hard but you just have to tell yourself no when you a ciggarette. I am not going to lie I would still like to smoke, but I dont feel like I NEED to anymore. I will never take another puff again!

Your little chippie is adorable! Just this evening, sitting outside at the golf course having dinner, I had my first chipmunk sighting. I shot a couple pictures, but haven't looked at them yet and am not expecting much. Seeing your darling photo is like a consolation prize for me this evening!

I love this! I'm jealous. We don't have any squirrels to take pictures of :(. We used to when we had a bird feeder, but the bird feeder blew away in a big storm last summer. Maybe I should buy a new one!

Louise that is too funny! I guess it was the perfect day for this picture hehe.

Lauren, they did not go to the birdfeeder until it had all sunflower seeds, now they are stuffing their cheeks almost all day!

Darrell, I never saw them either until recently :)
