10 June What summer?

Although this was taken the other day, it sums up my journeys to and from work this week. The calendar says June but its been mostly grey, damp and cold. Even had my headlights on coming home today at 5.30pm! The only thing blazing at the moment are the glorious wild poppies in the fields and verges and even they look bowed.
Nice shot - I hope the whole summer isn't this rainy for you!

Your weather sounds like what we experienced most of last summer up here in Nova Scotia. What a difference a year made, however! I'd send some your way if I could, but I'd be hard pressed to willingly give it up!

Your picture seems to echo the words you wrote about the weather. That single poppy seems to be doing its darndest to liven the scene!

At your suggestion, I got out of the cemetery today and found a lot of cheerier choices for photos!

I love the lone poppy. Reminds me of a story about Gallipoli I read to the children an ANZAC Day.
We are in Winter here. The sky is a beautiful blue, the days are usually low to mid 20s and it's getting down to about 14 degrees C at night!

I love the way you've caught the single poppy against the darker greens and greys.

Gorgeous shot - I love the way the background seems to extend infinitely. This summer has been a rainy one where I live too. Much more rain and fog than I'd like to see..

Poor poppy! Your weather sounds like ours. Today the sun came out after days of cold and drizzle. We're used to the grey skies near the ocean about now, but not the rest. In August, we'll melt!
