Today was wet and the day was filled with domestic duties (yaaawwwn) I took a few indoor photos and they soon got deleted! So this was taken yesterday. The darter sunned himself on the tree stump for ages and didn't move when he was joined by the fly. Photo opportunity!
There's been some discussions here about using a P&S (which I use all the time) but they can be amazingly versatile and I would encourage others to explore the variety of settings available.
Maybe this was an arranged "date" and they are planning to "fly" somewhere together for a nice dinner of bugs and plant nectar.......
Maybe there's an insecting "computer dating service" called "LOVE BUGS are US".........LOL......
All jokes aside -- you did a fabulous job capturing these 2 winged creatures. I, too, use point & shoot.
Wow! What an amazing photo! And for my Jello Shots pic - it's flavored gelatin - very popular here in the States, especially for kids. But these are strickly for grown ups. Instead of using water to prepare them, you use liquor - in this case Vodka, but you could use Rum or even Tequila. They set up just like regular gelatin and you take the lid off and suck them out. They are about an ounce each. I highly recommend stopping after about four or five. LOL
Great shot!! Such detail - and you've a great lil' camera there :-) 10/10 for knowing the name of the critter, I never know any names and I always feel a bit shameful !
Fabulous capture!! Love getting the 2 for 1 shots! I love my point and shoot too. I try and always have it with me just in case. Mine has manual settings too but I haven't fiddled with them much.

You have been just in a right time there and skilfully taken these fellows even so clearly, really fine!!
