Turkish rose by Cherrill

Turkish rose

Week 18 of my 52 blooms project - roses. During our visit to Turkey a couple of weeks ago, I was struck by the abundance and beauty of their roses. Blooming much earlier than ours of course but they seem to thrive everywhere from gardens to roundabouts, in shabby containers or rambling over houses. This was cut by a friend of ours where we had booked a table at his restaurant. (taken 28 April 2018)
What a glorious colour. Can't wait for the roses to start flowering - the spring flowers have almost gone from the garden and there is a bit of a hiatus at present!
