Fennel

Week 28 in my 52 blooms project - fennel. I have plenty of this plant in the garden. I don't grow it as a crop but maybe this autumn I may dig the older ones up to see if the bulb is edible. I love the feathery foliage and the flowers attract so many insects. Later the seeds can be used in various dishes and the seedheads look attractive in the winter time. I've started the week with this giant one we found in Sardinia.
Wow, this is lovely! I love fennel - such a fresh flavour.

That's a really pretty plant. I didn't realize it grew so tall.

I've never seen this growing, but see the bulbs often in the Farmer's Market here. Interesting information!
