Milky Way

Last night we went to Mt Cook observatory, it's supposed to be the clearest night sky in the southern hemisphere and it was no dissapointment. The guys up there were very knowledgeable, but the people we went with couldn't be any more stupid. This woman seriously asked if they found any other humans on planets and when they tried to explain to here that scientists are looking for even the smallest traces of bacteria she was most dissapointed and considered the research pointless, what did she expect? to find people walking around New New York speaking English on the planet next door??

This is really lovely. Good story too. I think some people watch too much Dr Who or Star Trek for their own good ;-)
