As I depart the train station every morning and cross the river, I can see the Water Taxi loading up its passengers. I've always imagined that a nice, leisurely ride on the water would be a very mellow way to start the day. :-)
Thanks, folks! @Denise - this is the stop right across the river from the back of the Lyric Opera at Madison. Folks come right out of the Oglivie Metra Station and head downstairs to this platform. The taxi then turns around and takes them over to Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier.
Very nice picture! I'm really enjoying seeing Chicago through your eyes. I've heard that people in Seattle can commute by kayak.... that would be a pretty cool way to do it as well!
Thanks again. @Kay - yes, I think those are Mallard Ducks swooping through the shot. They seem to like hanging 'round the river these days.@Delia - A kayak would be fun, too, but I'm not sure I'd want to get down that close the Chicago River....it's supposedly not the cleanest, I'm afraid. :-[
Loving the bright pop of yellow.
Never taken a water taxi before... come to think of it, never taken a regular taxi before either. Hmmm maybe I should get out more.
Your photo is great. I'm not sure if someone mention this already but I love how you captured the bird. I also love the colors of this shot. In another note, thank you so much for your comment, is people like you who make me want to use my creativeness more.
Wow! I just love getting glimpses into other people's everyday lives. This scene is so different than what I see every morning. What a big, wide world! Love the yellow in the boat! And yes, I can almost feel myself riding it.
Touting what I love in Chicago...on the river...if you want to have a leisurely time...is the fabulous architecture tour! I've gone twice and would do so again in a heartbeat! Your photo of the water taxi brought that back to mind!
