Chinatown

Whoohoo! We started our vacation today and have planned a week of sightseeing and visiting with friends and family up and down the California coast. We spent our first night here in San Francisco meandering through Chinatown and dined on yummy dumplings and hot and sour soup while trying to warm up from the surprisingly chilly temperatures out here! Cold or hot, though, this is still a beautiful city.
I love San Francisco!! Have a great trip - this is a great shot!

San Francisco is #1 on my list of US cities I want to go to. I love everything that is going on in this picture, especially the lanterns. Have a great vacation!

What a fantastic street scene you've captured here. Love the colors and patterns created by the lanterns, coupled with the candid glimpse of those people just going about their daily business.

It seems like visitors to San Francisco - even those who are not prone to souvenir shopping - always tend to come back with a San Francisco sweatshirt because it's always so much cooler there than people anticipate. (Myself included). Great city, though - haven't been there in years but I am dying to go back.

Nice shot. I have never been to San Francisco or a Chinatown anywhere, but I hope to go someday...I hear that there is lots of delicious food there.

So colorful!! I hope you have a wonderful time! (I believe Mark Twain was quoted as saying, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.")

love all the shapes and colors in this shot, Sue! are you there for the festival or is that just coincidental?

I love that it looks exactly like you hope it would look! The colors are great and the perspective is so cool, with all the lanterns looking like they go all the way to the ground. Have a great trip. Can't wait to see more.

Lovely street shot. We spent our honeymoon in a hotel just by the Chinatown gate 10 years ago, love San Francisco!

This would seem to be the ubiquitous Chinatown image! How beautiful, and I know you've got some delicious food to go along with that picture! What a great way to get a vacation underway!
