A Night at the Opera by Swazzette

A Night at the Opera

This is Chicago's Civic Opera House and the home of the Lyric Opera. It's a beautiful old building whose backside sits right on the Chicago River and right across from my train station, so I pass by it morning and night. The entrances have always impressed me so, and since the city has closed down Wacker Drive in front of it for a major resurfacing project, I am now able to walk right out in the middle of the street to get a shot of one of them.

Thanks, RIchard, for the heads-up on the movie theme. How could I forget my boys, The Marx Brothers! Movie - A Night at the Opera - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0026778/
ohhhh what a fantastic building! Have you gone inside before?

@islawight - With quite a nice backside. Ha! Check out this pic on Wikipedia. The building looks like a throne....which is appropriate, I guess, for a proper backside. :-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civic_Opera_House_%28Chicago%29
