I've got a wonderful friend in Nova Scotia who creates a beautiful summer garden every year. His roses are hard-won where the weather and the soil are often at odds with success. The gift of a rose from him is generous and heart-felt, and I believe I've saved every one in a photograph. Here in my California yard, I point the camera above my head to capture this image. If Billy were here, I'd give this rose to him.
Being in Nova Scotia, I can appreciate your comments about the soil and weather at odds with success.. how true. There is a bush that just started to take off outside my step, so I will have to see how it does and photo it later in the season for you...haha. Wild roses on the other hand we have plenty! Will get some of those shots too.. later though!
I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw Tamara's photo today! This is Lunenburg, my summer home, and where Billy, my neighbor lives! http://365project.org/tamara/365/2010-03-28 **There are no coincidences**???
A lovely tribute. Would that we all could count on a friend like you. Thank you for your nice comment. I honestly thought I was already following you since I read your comments and link to your photos in so many places. Now it will be official! I'm glad you enjoyed the squirrel video. I'm sure your followers will get some grins from watching it.
That tinge of red in this is so lovely and I can almost smell it the rose. Love the story about your friend, too. I've noticed with our very warm weather, the gorgeous roses outside my office window have bloomed. They're amazing.
