TJ & Pink's Big Brother, Tabby by Weezilou

TJ & Pink's Big Brother, Tabby

(I had all my caption written out, and when I went to post it, it all disappeared! Expletive deleted! Don't you hate it when that happens?!)

...I have nothing profound to say about this picture, except that he's my adorable, well-loved kitty. If he sees me with the camera, he'll pretend he needs to rub his head on the arm rest...anything to avoid me. This time I caught him sleeping and stole his likeness with my camera!

Can you spare me a minute? You all have been so nice to come by my site and leave comments, I hope you'll be here today and let me share what's crossed my mind regarding all your wonderful portraits, self portraits and collages. I know some of you were hesitant and some didn't even want to leave your pictures posted for long. But, to a one, there wasn't one of you I wouldn't have been drawn to get to know better. You are beautiful, handsome, sexy, brave, creative, talented, tentative, bold, brassy, funny, cute,"chi", heart-felt, fresh-faced, youthful, ageless, and every one of you, **ADORABLE** I'm so happy to be one in your circle. This has been and looks to be an exceptional year for all of us!

(The day is fast approaching (May 8th) when we leave California for the summer, and the pace of my life is going to change. I know I'll no longer have as much free time to spend looking at pictures and leaving comments; I'm going to miss that interaction like crazy. In Nova Scotia, I spend more time out with friends & neighbors, taking morning walks, enjoying music in the park, playing afternoon Scrabble, sharing dinners and visiting over wine and chocolate late into the evening. I look forward to sharing new sights and my view of the world from up north. My friends there are on alert that I'm arriving with my camera... ...and I know how to use it!)

If Chris were going to leave a song here, would it be "Lazy Bones"?
dear, dear louise, thank you ever for your reassuring words. old as i am, i still need some reassurance. it's indeed very thoughtful of you to drop by again just to encourage me once more. no wonder even your cat is so peaceful and happy in its life with you. April 17th, 2010
Great picture! Looks like he's relaxing in the sun, don't we all like to do that. Enjoy your summer away in Nova Scotia, I know we will all be eagerly awaiting your photos from there. :)
April 17th, 2010
So very cute! Louise, Tabby has the biggest paw I ever seen! And what this? Leaving California?!? Don't goooooooo Louise!
~ P.S. Thank you for stopping by to visit my album today and your wonderful comment always. : ]
April 17th, 2010
We'll be back in California in mid-September. We just go up for the summer months. No squirrels, though...
April 17th, 2010
This has been an amazing project and hopefully will continue beyond 2010 or else we're going to have to find space somewhere to keep the cluster going. We all appreciate each other and have enjoyed revealing ourselves, both in words and pictures, to one another. There will, of course, be times when we can't post as regularly as we'd like and when there isn't time to do much in the way of comments....but that's okay. We'll do it when we can! Meanwhile "act like a cat" and enjoy a bit of "me" time.
April 17th, 2010
Lovely cat, Louise. Have a great vacation and thanks for your comments on my face theme pic. Helen,by the way, and family are currently stuck in Kuala Lumpur due to the volcanic ash over Europe.
April 17th, 2010
You're a sweetheart, Louise - and this is a sweet photo. I hope you have a wonderful summer.
April 17th, 2010
Awww, that's one happy and relaxed kitty, very cute. I always really appreciate all your wonderful comments Louise :) and I'll be looking forward to seeing a slice of Nova Scotia through your eyes.
April 17th, 2010
louise, you are something special. i've never been to nova scotia (better look at the map), and anticipate seeing it thru your eyes. wait, m aybe we all should go to nova scotia!

April 17th, 2010
Tabby has got the life! What a sweet photo. This 365 thing has been quite the ride so far. I look so forward to the photos and stories each day. It sure makes for a lot of smiles throughout my busy week. Looking so forward to seeing and hearing about your travels up North. As for that self portrait...it's on the back of that Hallmark card. It will be in stores nationwide on June 21st...LOL
April 17th, 2010
catsdo like to sleep a lot and if there is some sunshine the more so.
apropos sunshine our weather here has been going up and down like a yoyo warm then cold and this morning it snowed just a little now the sun is shining. our heat in the house is still running like crazy.we just have to hang in there and hope that it gets warmer soon.
April 17th, 2010
Hey, that's not a self portrait! Your sentiments are very sweet and obviously heartfelt. I can understand how not being able to spend time on 365 will be difficult after having been so involved for four months. But it isn't like you won't be having fun. Walks, music, Scrabble, dinners, WINE, chocolate. Sounds like a boring time. LOL!! Perhaps you could simply limit yourself to just posting a pic a day and let the description be a journal. Sure we will miss all your comments on our pics but you will still be part of our very large group.

And I was having the same thought as Elizabeth. What happens at the end of the year? In January my intention was to just do this for a year. I had no inkling of what this would turn into. So, what happens?
April 17th, 2010
Oh Louise ... WHAT a beautiful cat! I am such a cat person. Can't see a photo of one without wanting to pick it up and hold it! Sigh. Tabby does indeed appear to be very well loved and fed. Your words are always so heartfelt and genuine and caring, not only on all the wonderful comments you leave on our individual postings, but also in your own descriptions of your photos. You have such a thankful and giving spirit. And look at all the friends you have reaped from that. Wow. We are all so happy that you have the summer months in Nova Scotia to look forward to. We are, in fact, jealous. Can't wait to hear your tales and see your amazing photos. Hugs to you .....
April 17th, 2010
Tabby is a cute kitty. Have fun this summer and I look forward to seeing some photos from Nova Scotia. Keep safe.
April 17th, 2010
Louise, a picture a day keeps the doctor away. As "rayswrld" said just send us a picture and some smart thoughts about your day.:-)
April 17th, 2010
Oh, Louise ... May 8th is WEEKS away ... although time is FLYING, as my 365 calendar is quick to show me! Thanks for your kind words and your encouragement, as always! Not only do I love reading my "personal" comments, I love seeing what you have to say to everyone else! You are EVERYWHERE! So, yes, you will be missed, but I'm willing to bet that you'll be able to carve out some 365 time in Nova Scotia ... Things have just gotten to be too much fun around here! (I often wonder if Ross is aware of the "monster" that he created ...)

@ Elizabeth and Ray ... the end of the year is eight months away! There is nothing that says we can only do a year! The end of the year traditionally marks a time of reflection, a time to set new goals, so we can encorage each other to stretch in new ways (if we're not all totally sick of each other by then OR needing to reclaim our "physical" lives! LOL!).
April 17th, 2010
I have a feeling that although your pace will change, you will also still find the time to check in with us if not physically, then in your heart. That's important as well. As I always tell my students, in life, you do what you can. When the pressure is too much and life just hits you all at once, you do what you can...and for now, for today, that's enough. And just so that you know...your pace changes...you don't....what's in your heart stays there. Thanks for all your compliments. Don't stress about this anymore; just enjoy the time you have...!

Thank you for sharing Tabby with me. I find that he's just as cute...and cuddly. Give him a hug from me as well.

I am interested in learning about life in Nova Scotia, a place that I know very, very little about. I'm hoping that you will be able to teach me something. :)
April 17th, 2010
Oh, look at that little, sleepy pile of furry cuteness! Just looking at him makes me want to go back to bed. Ha!

Boy, oh, boy, Louise, I am going to miss your daily missives on this site, but it sounds like your adventures planned for the northlands are more than worth pushing back from the computer for a months. Besides, we 365ers are a hearty lot and will still be here when you get back. Ha! It's funny, but when I began this on Jan. 1st, I had no idea how inspiring and challenging this site would be for me, nor how much I would come to care for the wonderfully talented (and wacky!) group of people such as yourself. It's been such a pleasure getting to know you all, and I look forward to meeting YOU in person sometime soon. Please DO give us a holler when you're in town in early May. It would be nice for us all to do an afterwork cocktail and/or dinner with you one night. And, hey, if no one is available but me...then I will just have to meet you and Heather in Andersonville for coffee! Just let me know when and where by e-mailing me at: suesteph@comcast.net
April 17th, 2010
What a sweet photo! I am looking forward to your photos from Nova Scotia and know everyone will appreciate any time you can spare us. :)
April 17th, 2010
Tabby sure looks content on that bench! Great shot. Sneaking up on him while he was sleeping was a great strategy... I guess it's not just people who are camera shy! I am sorry to hear you will not be on 365 as much once you are in Nova Scotia, but I must say I am really looking forward to seeing your photos from there. I am sure they will be amazing. And if there is going to be some kind of meet-up when you are in Chicago next month I would love to be a part of it! You are an absolute delight and I would love to meet you in person!
April 17th, 2010
SoCal will seem emptier while you're gone! Hope you can make a little time for your 365 endeavors in NS. As to Tabby, TJ and Pink, what will they do--feed the squirrels while you're gone? =^)

Sorry about today's "shades" pic; I lost your post when I decided to reload, but appreciate the comments!
April 17th, 2010
@ Sue & Kerri...I'll keep in touch as the time gets closer...would *love* to meet up with you delightful gals!

@Pea Jay...I tease my friend who cares for the house and cats that "we share joint custody". we're away so much of the time! She's a huge cat-lover, so they won't miss a beat in the transition! The squirrels could possibly come under her care as well, knowing her...
April 17th, 2010
this is too adorable! Hopefully you'll be able to squeeze in a little 365 everyday! Have a great time in Nova Scotia.
April 17th, 2010
Wooooooooow! the kitty is so adorable. We all miss you while away and I just can say we will wait for your coming back again and leave precious and meaningful comments.
April 17th, 2010
I'm actually not leaving for three more weeks...it just seems "soon" to me because there's so much to do beforehand! And I have every intention of spending part of each day here...just maybe not as much as I've had the time for at the present. But I'm not going to be far... I love this site too much! If anything, I'll be bringing my friends into 365 in little ways once I'm settled for the summer...
April 17th, 2010
Thanks for last night's wishes - it was the best night of sleep I've had in a long time :)

I'm feeling the addiction today - just can't quite tear myself away from the site. In between I get up and make a few failed attempts to get something done, but I just keep coming back for more. Well, I guess that's what Saturdays are for.

Your summer plans sound lovely! Enjoy them and don't feel too guilty about scaling back a bit on 365. You deserve a fun summer off ;)
April 17th, 2010
Wonderful photo, Tabby looks sooooooooo comfortable. Have a great summer Louise
April 17th, 2010
Hi Louise, thanks for your kind words and constant encouragement, now i've finally done it! :)) I'm just not used to be in front of the camera, it's just not very "me" :P but now you've all seen it, hope i didn't "disappoint" you all :)) let us know when you are coming so we can plan ahead!
April 17th, 2010
Wow, BIG brother is right! He's gorgeous! That bench must be a cat favorite, I think the other cat shot you posted was on this bench too? smile. I love the lighting and his expression of regal contentment.
April 17th, 2010
your a sweetheart Louise..that's all I'll say about that......
As for your summer plans - they sound fantastic!!!!!!! Life has a terrible habit of getting in the way with this 365..(particularly work) I personally know there are some days when I'm just too exhausted to do anything other than post a picture, let alone catch up on everyone's wonderful photos. As long as you don't plan on leaving us entirely, we are happy ;)
April 17th, 2010
ohhhnooo...you're not getting rid of me *that* easily!
April 17th, 2010
OMG LOUISE GUESS WHAT!!??
Just this morning I looked outside, and to my surprise, there was a little baby squirrel eating off of the corn cob Charlie usually eats on!! I was talking to my dad and all of a sudden I screamed, " BABY SQUIRREL! IS THAT A BABY SQUIRREL!" it was so cute and tiny I couldnt tell for sure if it was there because it was hiding behind the empty corn cob. My dad was like "GRAB THE CAMERA!" so I ran back to my room, grabbed the camera, but as I snuck out the front door...all of my dogs barked...and even though their barking doesnt scare Charlie..it evedentally scared the baby because by the time I went around back ...the little squirrely was gone :( I was soo sad! I really wanted to get a picture to show everybody..because my guess is that Charlie isnt pregnant now...I think maybe she already HAD babies! and today was the first time I saw one. I sure hope it comes backk!! I have been squirrel watching ever since. I really want to get a picture of the little guy!! I wonder how many there are? I hope they are Charlie babies....

anyways..just had to update you :)
April 17th, 2010
oh i forgot to mention that I'm honored to have my "chi" in your description...everybody will miss you! :))
April 17th, 2010
Lauren! That's good news! You are a grandmother! haha!
April 17th, 2010
hahaha :)
April 18th, 2010
btw, I did read your caption. Dont be sad that there wont be as much interaction. We all understand :) I'm sure all of you common everyday followers above will continue to share their thoughts on your photos everyday...even when you cant write back to every single one of us with your kind words :) I know I will. And I Understand. I can't wait to see some pictures from Nova Scotia. I Hope you really enjoy yourself! because you deserve it. And might I add, all of your self-portraits were all of the adjectives listed in your caption as well :)
April 18th, 2010
Hi....it makes sense if you read it as: "...remember how it is....." where you want to please the teacher!! Anyhow....morning "fuzziness" is fun! We all do it and sometimes our fingers are totally independent from our brains....
Right now I'm trying to sort out a sermon for tomorrow (later today!!) that isn't pleasing me. Might be better to go to bed (already 1.20 am!!) and get up a tad earlier. I'm celebrating Holy Communion for a friend in his church at 8.30 am and then in my own church at 9.30 am. That will be followed by a welcome coffee before the 11.00 am service. Afternoon should be free and then in the evening I'm attending a Bach Cantata in another neighbouring church.... Sunday is busy!!
Anyhow....hope all is well.
April 18th, 2010
Yes, he's right. Trouble is...even when I'm working (burning the candle at both ends and in the middle as well) the little alert noise lets me know when there's a new posting....and I have to check it out, don't I?!! I really am going to shut down shortly....not getting anywhere and ending up with a messy sermon. Clarity with the dawn, perhaps?
April 18th, 2010
Although we will miss your thoughful and encouraging words during the summer, I must admit to being a bit envious of your time in Nova Scotia. However, we all look forward to lots of photos of your adventures coupled with your delightfully eccentric (that's a good thing) sense of humour.
Although I'm only comfortable behind the camera, in honour of your trip, I'm posting a self-portrait today.
April 18th, 2010
He's amazing. I want to give that kitty a gigantic hug!!! I hope you have an awesome time on your travels and don't forget to 365!
April 18th, 2010

Great photo Louise!
Thank you for your kind words to us all!
It is amazing how we've all grown together like penfriends really !!!
We can't wait to contact each other or look at what each other has posted - just a wonderful "net friendship".
I think I now know you a little bit !!!!!!
You won't be able to NOT get onto 365 - you'll have to get your daily "fix". HA! HA!
April 18th, 2010
Great! Love the TJ's napping pose. It's pity to know that you're moving to Canada, but I'm excited to see the pictures you would take there (I've seen right now that Nova Scotia is a wonderful place).
April 19th, 2010
Tabby is adorable!!! It looks like he has a heart-shaped spot on his nose - sooo cute!!! And your words are wonderful, Louise!! 365 is a truly amzing project!! So many incredible people to meet, and share beautiful photos, wise thoughts, and amazing memories with!

April 19th, 2010
Oh Louise... what can I say? (cue the sappy Golden Girls them song) You make me smile every day with your comments and I have loved following the great squirrel project. I hope you have a fun, relaxing, social summer in Nova Scotia! I will wonder often what you're out doing and patiently wait for the update... and pics! :)
April 19th, 2010
How content he looks.....not a care in the world! How cute
April 20th, 2010
Hi Louise! So nice of you to drop by my page (followed from Ellen E's) to say hi! Sorry I was slow to respond... was out of town and off the grid for a few days. But, I'm back now so... Hello! I actually thought of you on vacation because (out of about 50 blurry attempts) I got a great close-up squirrel picture! I have new respect for those of you who can get them to stand still. =)
Going to Nova Scotia? Southern California will miss you terribly! But I look forward to beautiful NS pictures!
April 20th, 2010
Love the sunlight, love the cat...let me give him a big E-Hug.. haha.. love the whole picture! Looking forward for your Nova Scotia sharings.
