Meet our daughter and her husband, visiting from Chicago. Their flight yesterday was cancelled, so they didn't arrive until noon today. We drove to the airport in heavy fog, but, with the arrival of our kids, the sun came out for the rest of the day! I thought a photo of the two of them with the "International Arrivals" sign would surely be my picture of the day, but as I sat on my side of the desk and I saw them on Ken's computer, I switched gears and I was able to sneak two pictures into one!
It was a full full day and by the time those two settled in to watch a movie in the other room late this evening, I came to my computer and realized I'd never be able to reciprocate all the comments, much less go through my home page! At 11:30, Mrs Smith left me a last comment that was so dear, greatly appreciated, and right on target. She said her Chris had always told her that if she didn't look after herself, she'd be no good to anyone else. Since I've frequently sent advice her way, I thought it might be time for me to heed hers! Thank you all for taking the time to read through my little saga yesterday and for your sweet notes! I can't wait to hear what Enid thought of them all (I know she's still getting settled in her new home today.)
Six of us are going for a walk in the morning, and then we'll see how the rest of the day unfolds. I hope to have a wee bit of time to see you all, too. (Ashley is just starting 365 and is http://365project.org/lulu/365/2010-06-04 )
Yay!! So glad they made it. Although I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish I was there too. I was just wondering what day they'd arrive in NoSco and now I know. Give each other a big ol' group hug from Tina and me! xo
So great to hear they arrived safely! I love your creativity in shooting an image with both shots in one. I've been swamped over the last couple of weeks so my comments have been less. Thanks for yours today. Enjoy your new company. :)
such a smart shot! didn't realize it at first. then i started doing my little peeping-andie thing where i check out the surrounding room in photos! have to stick this idea in my back-pocket for a rainy day if you don't mind?!
Love this photo, especially the photo within a photo! You heard it already, but let 365 wait! We'll all be here when you return, being with your family is such precious time, enjoy their visit! : )
That's a beautiful photograph and I know you'll really enjoy the time with them.... forget about sending replies to us for a while - we'll survive! Well, I think we'll survive!!!! Just post a picture every day if you can and join the conversations again when you are able! Family first!
Having just gotte througha period of not keeping up, I'm here to tell you, 365 will wait. (Although you WILL be missed, never fear!) I *love* that you and Ken have "dueling laptops." You two are so CUTE! (Remind me, is Ashley the daughter that is pregnant?)
What a gorgeous couple they are! You will have such a good time with them. I guess they got in too late to make a stop at Costco, eh? LOL Have fun, Louise!
Nice to see your family and also that they came to visit you. we already spent over 7 days here in Germany. having the time of our lives. six more days here in Bremen and then back to Remscheid, by that time Hans's sister and brother with family will be home from their vacation in Bayern and will greet us. so far we have stayed with his niece. .uploaded a few collages from our trip
Denise and Rainee asked & Yes, Ash is my daughter having the baby in October. I'd tell you she's got the cutest little baby bump, but she doesn't like me making a fuss over her, so don't let her know I told you so ;-)
ahahhahaha...no fuss. okay =)
isn't it funny how we can relate to the caption of my photo for today? it's from beyonce's song...and i've never really liked her but i had a certain idea for the picture...when i look at it, i think flaws...so i was searching online and came across the lyrics for her song and it hit home =)
so...does ashely look like ken? because heather's the one that looks like you.
You know Louise, I find that I can't get through all my friends comments each day either.
Everyone understands & we know that we'll hear from each other sooner or later.
We are all here for the long haul :D
Good advice, having a hard time keeping up with anything but posting, thought I'd pop into your pics at the least and I see you've been having good times
Louise, I so enjoyed reading your note this morning!! Thank you so much for devoting me such a portion of your time! I love our 365 communication - it's almost like a letter for each day! :-) The photos are just a bonus! ;-)
I am so excited you liked my One Ride find! ;-) I am keeping every little piece of history we find, and we will definitely use some of the things as decorations around the house. Be sure we'll frame that old ticket! ;-) The other day Jeremy found an old shoe and a baseball in the wall - so cool! It's amazing what old houses have instore for new owners!
Back to dryers - I agree that it's a popular misconception that they use a lot of electric. I think that, plus the fact that people in Bulgaria mostly live in small apartments makes them undesirable. But my granny is definitely working on popularizing them! At fist she was thinking to go back to hanging clothes outside in summer, but now she's so used to her dryer that she's not going back to the old ways! ;-) I absolutely agree about the underwear - I don't know how people can do this! Hang it inside, or somewhere where the world won't see it! But people are different, and so are their ways!
How wonderful that John and Ashley got married in Lunenburg! No wonder it holds a dear place in their hearts! I hope you had a great walk this morning, and a perfect day! looking forward to your photo for today! ;-))
u both look as lovely as ur mum / mum in law !!!
Lovely photo of them too lou lou xx
