After a day that started with golf for Ken, John & Ashley, followed by a waffle breakfast, we set out for a little sightseeing and a lot of photography around the area. By just strolling through Blue Rocks, I saw more detail than when I'm trying to keep up on our morning walks. From there, we stopped back by the house to pick up beer & potato chips to take out to Feltzen South, where we joined our friends, Mike & Johnny http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-05-24 as they worked on their rental cottage remodel (the house is over 200 years old, but it's gotten a fabulous facelift). Again, Johnny asked me to take some more pictures in the little harbour http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-05-31 as he'd like some photographs to decorate the cottage when it's completed. The clouds had rolled in just an hour earlier, and, I thought, added a little drama to the setting.
I had such trouble trying to decide which photo to use tonight, asking the family to weigh in, helping me decide. Ultimately, when they'd all gone to bed for the night, I picked this one that I hadn't even shown them earlier. Here are my other favorites from around the area that I didn't use today http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/1840
This is so gorgeous - I love those dark colours warmed by the touches of light under the clouds and the reflections in the water - its is very peaceful. Sounds like you had another lovely day with family and friends - mmm, waffle breakfast - that's making me hungry!
hahaaa..Louise, you're funny, asking the family to vote on the picture of the day, and then using one that you hadn't even showed them!! Your life sounds very beautiful and your days very rich. I told this to Suzie once.....I think you are a person who truley does "Stop to smell the roses".
i can understand why you had a hard time picking the pic for today. We all know how that is. I would have narrowed it down to this one, the one with John and Ashley holding hands and the waterfront pic.
This looks like such a nice and relaxing spot. It reminds me of some of the harbors in Maine that I've visited. I looked at the shutterfly link and you had so many great photo's to choose from. I think you chose well.
I love the area "up there" in Nova Scotia and the Bay of Fundy. We have been there on vacation twice and were so impressed by the GIANT difference in tides that occur there. In fact yesterday when we drove into Willis Wharf, Virginia and saw the mudflats we looked at each other and said "BUT this is NOT the Bay of Fundy !!!!! Sooooo WHY the giant mudflats?"
It is amazing how places separated by many soooo many miles can have a "look" similar to each other.
Thanks for coming to my pic and saying "hi" and making a comment.
By the way, I posted 13 new pictures to my A Closer Look album in June when you have time to browse. =) I took advantage of my back feeling a bit better to upload a handful of photos from our trip.
This is gorgeous! Took a break from packing just now and took a little gander at your latest going's-on in-and-about town. Looks as if you're still enjoying yourself and Ashley and John have had a wonderful visit. Can't believe you're having to deal with a new roof, though. Yikes! How dare real life intrude on such an idyllic setting! :-)
thanks Louise, i felt terrible last night and was crying most of the time (silly me :) i kept thinking the worst possibilities and was terrified! it is so true that your pets are just like your children, you worry about them all the time.... one thing i especially feel bad for them is that they can talk, you see every emotion only from their eyes. that breaks my heart when they are sick...i just hope he will get better soon,
thank you for your nice comment on my rook picture - I know what you mean, this project is so much fun for all those little insights into "ordinary" life (if there is such a thing) all over the world
re: bunny photo today. Unfortunately, this is not my new yard. I have 5 more weeks before move-in weekend. Closing is July 15th, BEVERAGES (Plan B) & snacky foods are scheduled for the evening of the 16th. Then the move begins on Sat., the 17th. I thought it best to christen the house before waiting until everything is unpacked and I felt it guest-worthy. The inspection was last Thursday and I know there are squirrels and birds, but I'm not sure about bunnies - I can only hope.
Beautiful shot! The reflections are amazing! I always have a hard time to pick a photo, and usually ask my husband for his opinion. He never fails me ;-) However, lately I've been on my own, because by the time I put the pictures up, Jeremy is sound asleep ;-)
ps! thanks for you wonderful comment on sox! dream of making the popular page sometime!

*Sidenote: just saw a commercial for Cisco that showed a sign saying "Welcome to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia"...it cracked me up!!
That is just beautiful
I want to be there!
