Since we've begun taking our morning walks on a country lane in the community of Lilydale (I love that name!) we've struck up an aquaintance with a young woman who boards horses for the summer. She introduced us to Mica and told us she'd come over to us any time we called her, so we asked if we could bring her sugar cubes. She said it might be better for her if we'd bring carrots, and look who was happy to see us today!
I suspect this will become a morning ritual now...
OK....you'll laugh at this....
The first thing I thought when I saw your picture....
"Louise likes her men with mustaches!
And also, in white"
Bwahahaha!
Even the horse is white! hee
Too funny!
Beautiful horse. Love the hair in the eyes.
Beautiful men, too!
YES!!!!!! This week has been crazy busy....Brad was also stuck at Heathrow for THREE DAYS, trying to get home, so I was trying to keep the phone lines clear and was glued to my email, in order to get news, any news. It was a nightmare.
And to top it off, I didn't have a working camera. I already felt like a piece of me was missing with Brad gone, added to the loss of camera, I felt like I'd been kneecapped.
The last few days Brad has had off...our first together in almost 2 weeks, and we've been out to dinner with friends and family every night, it seems.
I've been meaning to load some pics here that Brad took in Paris, but I've also been spending my free time ( read: on the sly, when Brad is sleeping ) editing his pictures, in order to put them together for a book, as my 30th anniversary present to him, which is at the end of this month ( our 30th on the 30th!)...so I'm a bit under the gun in terms of timing.
this may seem just as silly as the cow thing...but I could never get that close to the horse! :p I'm so afraid that if I try to feed one it's going to bite off my hand xD oh me and my irrational fears. :p
I adire this though! I love the way the horse looks with the hair in it's eyes reminds me of a hippie of sorts!
Great capture.
What a fun picture, you make friends with every creature! Handsome horse and guys! Thanks for your comments on my pictures we are having a good holiday and so far weather isn't too bad : )
A very nice picture, it has a very relaxed atmosphere to it.Happy men, happy horse! And what a friendly gesture of you to bring him carrots! And how considerate to consult the owner and ask if it was okay to feed him something.
I 'm sure this pretty white horse is happy with his new friends!!!
I agree with the others...you certainly always have great male company! And the horse looks good too! :-) Thanks for looking at my mystery object...liked your comment :-) answers on the page now.
so funny what Barb said, I think I may chuckle all day over that one. I just love seeing your morning walk photos, you just all seem so happy and relaxed and off to start another wonderful beautiful fun-filled day. Is anyone ever cranky?!?!
What a very nice photo, everyone looks so happy ...now than how about a horse ride Louise i bet your gang would make a great set of cowboys !! ... now that would be a picture ..lol.. have fun
Ha! Why am I not surprised that I'm away from 365 for just a few days and return to find that you folks have just been "horsin' around". :-)
Well, just for you Louise, I have posted the pic of Richard Saffold and I at the reunion (and the day before...a photo with another old friend I hadn't seen in 48 years). It was so marvelous to see these dear old classmates and childhood friends after such a very long time. As you may know, too, time doesn't diminish the friendships and it felt as if we had all just seen each other yesterday. :-) http://365project.org/Swazzette/365/2010-07-31
Love this one!! How awesome to have horses nearby that you can get so close to. We went to a horse farm with my class and I had a great time. My daughter may move an hour away soon and where she will be living they have horses in the backyard. Man, I'll be visiting a lot LOL. As always, I'm so behind on comments!
Thank you for your lovely comments. You always put a smile on my face. Even when I read your comments on other people's photos!
I appreciate your kind words. I just wish I had more time to spend looking and commenting on all the pictures I admire. My husband says once school starts I'll have to get up at 4:30 to catch up with my postings!
This is way too cute!! Your photo put a big smile on my face!! Sugar cubes vs carrots - Mica seems to be from the clean eating generation! :-) Thank you so much for your welcoming comment, Louise! :-) I can't wait to move in and decorate the house! I love our big trees, but the yard can also use some plants and flowers! Jeremy has been working so hard and I think he's done a marvellous job! Who knows, may be one day you and Ken will find yourselves in Missouri and we'll get to make an apple dapple cake together ;-)) Life works in mysterious ways ;-)))
I have really fallen behind in looking at everyone's pictures because I can't believe I missed this! How gorgeous is that horse and what a sweetie-pie! I hope you see a lot of her while you are there...there is nothing like having a horse cross their paddock to greet you!
