Meet my friend, Mitch. Ken and I have been showing her and her husband, Will, all we love about Nova Scotia and why we came up here instead of retiring with them to Hawaii. She & I have been friends since we attended a (Kappa) convention back in 1978, and, after they moved from San Diego to Honolulu, we've been their house guests a number of times. I never thought they'd ever come out this way, but I think they've come to see what we love about the Maritimes. (Because of 365, and the comments I've received this summer, I think I've successfully introduced our virtual community to the beauty here.) Tomorrow we're leaving early to drive to the other side of the peninsula, visit some wineries, see the huge tidal changes at the Bay of Fundy, and go to some farmers markets (because our best produce comes from over there). I hope to have as many good photo choices as I got today... I've tried to share my interest in 365, but I don't think they understand it, so I'll just go about taking my pictures and meeting you all back here when they've turned in for the night. My obsession feels like my little secret. So glad I've found a community that shares my passion for capturing photographic memories!

I know what you mean about restraining your enthusiasm among the unbelievers. Fortunately my husband is part of my folie a deux, acting as wheelman for our photo safaris. But you already understand that, am I right?
Oh, I so know what you mean about the non-365ers. They give you that look and pretend to understand what you're so excited about... but you know they don't really get it. :-) Have fun, great bench shot!

Went right along with you two to that famous saltbox gallery..so interesting and colorful. i know what it's like when you have to keep secrets...not everyone can understand how much time we spent with our 365 friends..or why we take so many pictures that seem unimportant to them..
What fun for you showing off the town to another old friend. Pity 'bout not getting 365, though. I think Richard and I ran into a bit of that while explaining to some of our old school chums. Ah well, their loss, I always say. Have a great time on the other side of the peninsula!
that's so funny. I know what you mean. You can really tell when people are interested in the 365 experience or not. When they aren't, they fuzz over or look confused. LOL. But those who get it, GET IT.
Louise, this is just delightful! I love the bench and I love that your friends are finally there sharing the love you have for that area. You know, I've not really been out of Michigan and most times I'm in no hurry because I haven't even seen everything I want to see here yet. From your photos though, I'd love to come to Nova Scotia sometime. My hubby went when he was little and he does remember it fondly.

Can tell you two are great friends and are having a ton of fun - By the pointing of the Fingers!!!! LOL love it great humour and Friendship. I don't know about your dear friend Mitch, but I just love what you share with us on 365, possibly because I am "here down under". It's like the old say "Grass is always greener on the other side". Ah yes, till you get to the other side and look over "on the other side" than realise it's where you came from. It's lovely to know you have both found your Eden and are still abole to maintain a precious friendship. More happiness to you both.
I was trying to work out the pattern on the pants too, they look a bit like the planets and space to me.
