Life under a roof with our son-in-law, John, is always accompanied by rhythm and music. He left a business career to pursue his passion for music and with his talent and out-going personality, he's carved a nice niche for himself. Ashley frequently joins him on stage as they have this shared affinity. As perhaps a point of interest to those who followed my Lunenburg photos this summer, Ash and John were married on our back deck there three summers ago, and with his guitar he sang to her during the ceremony. One more reason we have an attachment to our Nova Scotia home.
We all spent the morning around the house as a thunderstorm rolled through town, but I'm heading out to visit Heather at the store before going to a party tonight. The daughter of our friends, Mary & John who just visited us, is moving soon to Colorado, so we're going to her big send-off. Afterward I'm helping Heather cook for the baby-shower-brunch tomorrow, and having a sleep-over there. Shame on me if I don't have a lot of photo choices over the next 24 hours!
What a wonderful shot of John! It's great that he decided to pursue his passion! ;-) Your weekend sounds so exciting, Louise! Looking forward to the pictures from the baby shower! We are going to our nephew's birthday party tomorrow - I am hoping to take a lot of pictures! ;-)
I love this photo of John with his guitar. He just looks so in his element. I think it's awesome that he's been able to pursue his love of music and turn it into a career, and it's also great that Ashley shares in that love. How incredibly sweet is it that he sang to her during their wedding? I would have been a sobbing mess!
I saw this somewhere recently – author unknown – “Sometimes when I play the guitar, I feel like I am dancing with God. And although I step on his toes from time to time, he is content to let me lead.” That’s the way your son-in-law looks in this photo…joy!
What a great casual picture. He clearly is in his element. Our son has a passion for music and plays mandolin with a small group of blue grass and American roots musicians. He does it as a hobby and as a way to reduce stress. He says he is glad he never tried to make it a career since it now it is a release from work rather than work itself.
wasn't that storm amazing? not sure how it was there, but in NE it was lovely to hear and sleep to so early this morning. lovely picture. he looks like the life of the party! best of luck to him in his new endeavor! and thank you soo sooo much for your sweet comment on yesterday's shot. once i get our living room repainted, it will be blown up and framed with some of my other faves....thanks again Louise!! XX
What a great photo and so nice to hear of someone following their dreams and the special Wedding ceremony that took place at your Lunenburg home. Such special memories!
Nice photo! Music is the heart of my son Gabe's life and home too.
Wonderful choice!
Louise! You have a rich social and family life & we enjoy sharing it with you. thank you :D
Wow! Drums AND guitar? Very talented fella, indeed. Cut pic of him....love the angle.
BTW - I have finally gotten caught up with my pics from vacation. Whew! Boy, it's like falling off a diet. You start to feel like you'll never catch up and almost give up. :-)
Louise, I was going through some of my older posted photos and I noticed you asked me about the blood pressure gadget. Sorry I overlooked it, Yes, you can buy those in a drug store and it is a great way to keep an eye on your blood pressure at home, Just read the instructions carefully so it is applied correctly or you may get a false low or high. They are great. You can buy one for about $30 - $40.
He looks like a pro! I love it when people have the courage and confidence to leave a 'safe' career and follow their heart!!!! You must be so proud of him!
Oh, my, what fun! I hope that the shower was wonderful and the baked goods all consumed. This is an exciting time for all of you. When is the due date? I loved being pregnant, I hope that she does too :o) Of course, this is only the beginning of the most remarkable experience life has to offer.
have fun!
