Today was the baby shower for Ashley and it came together beautifully! (Heather & I stayed up late & rose early to make a number of baked goods for the table.) I took lots of group photos of my girls' friends, but enjoyed time just visiting and holding one couple's 4-month old baby. After all the years of watching my friends become grandmothers, I can't believe that soon I get to become a member of that club, too! This evening I watched Ken and Ashley figure out the dynamics of a baby car seat and stroller and thought of the fun he's also going to have with a little one around again.
When John looked over my shoulder and said he loved this picture of Ashley, I didn't hesitate to choose it, too. And the bunny...that's one of Heather's designs, and I suspect it'll someday be a part of *someone's* childhood memory someday.
what a cute shot! i've yet to check out her site to see what other goodies she has!! so glad that the shower went well and that you got to practice grandmothering!! what will you be called by baby??? there's sooo many options!
I LOVE the play on Sinatra (my favorite singer by the way). It looks like you are having such a fantastic time with the family. Wonderful shot of your daughter! Hope the shower was a blast!
I love this picture...Ashley def has that "soon-to-be-a-Mommy" glow. And that bunny that Heather designed is amazing, so cute & snuggly looking.
I think that you are going to make such a fantastic grandmother...I'm sure that you are very excited to take on this new title : )
Glad that a fun time was had by all.
I love this shot, and Heather's bunny is just too adorable! You must be so excited to be joining the grandmothers' club! I'm sure you've answered this question a million times already, but when is Ashley due?
Definitely sounds like it was a big success, and her smile really lights up her face. Happy Mommy to be. You guys are going to love being Grandparents.
I can imaging now that the time is getting closer tht you and Ken are so excited and can hardly wait.....I remember the day my first grandchild was born..it was our lovely Britney who is 21 now..it was on a beautiful March 27 day..it was so warm that day that I wore a short sleeve blouse..will never forget that special day as my own daughter Grace was born on the same day as Britney. so the 27of March is so specil to all of us.
What a cute bunny!! Your daughter looks great! I can imagine how excited you must be, becoming a grandmother!!!It's so nice to read you're having such a wonderful time with your family. I think a babyshower is such a nice gesture. We don't have that overhere.
The grandparents club is one of the best clubs that you could possibly be a member of!!! Your daughter is just 'glowing". It's such a VERY special time in all of your lives. Congratulations to all of you....so exciting!
Ashley looks amazingly well and is glowing and that bunny is way sweet ha! I think its brilliant that you are looking forward to being a Grandma. Grandmas are so important in childrens lives, really really important. My Scottish Granny was the most amazing Granny that anychild could want or have. She was so so special and filled my childhood with some amazingly warm and happy memories :)
How fun to be able to spend this time with your girls. This is a great photo of your daughter. The bunny is pretty cute too!. Enjoy your time with your family.
That's adorable! I'm so excited that you get to become a grandma! Such fun, you get to hold them and play with them, and yet not have to get up in the middle of the night. I'm so grateful for the 4 blessings I have already!
Sounds like the shower went well! I loved having them as well as throwing them. So much fun to go through all of your stuff when it's over.
Ha! RE: my Spanish fiesta...thankfully there was no train to catch in the morning, and I was able to sleep in a wee bit. Still, when you get in that late...sleeping in until 8am doesn't really mean you get that many extra zzzzz's. It truly was worth it, though. :-)
Ashley looks like she's glowing! That bunny is too cute, I bet the baby will love it, what a beautiful picture! Heather is so talented, what an amzing family!
she's so gorgeous! i remember when you announced that she was pregnant. now she's pregnant enough to have a baby shower, that must mean it's getting somewhat close!!! i'm so excited for you and for her. and that bunny is awesome :)
oh she is absolutely glowing! i'm so excited for you! ( that kid is going to get spoiled rotten :)) btw, i managed to save very few of my vacation photos and i'm posting a couple of them everyday (the end of July and beginning of Aug), check it out and see if this is the Canada you saw in your eyes, will be interesting to see what you think :)
Beautiful picture! I love the bunny! Her belly is sooo big! We've joined 365 and this is our first comment. We miss you! John says every day that he wants to go back to Nova Scotia. He misses Dill almost as much as you. The weather here is getting colder, as you must know because you're in Chicago. We know that you'll enjoy Chicago and we look forward to soon seeing your baby shots! I'm going to try to post a photo every day. Love Eva.
How exciting to see you here already, Eva! As soon as you post your first picture, I'll let everyone know you're on line...I'm so proud of you to take on this project! I hope you'll be back here to see this comment. I'm looking forward to becoming your first follower! Love you, too...Louise
Two quotes I love – “A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty" and "A grandmother is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend." – both Author Unknown. My favorite thing ever was when Michael was about 2 and staying with us for the night, leaned over hugged me tight and said, “Mama, you’re my best friend.” Still makes me sigh! It’s going to be the best time of your life!
such a great shot of ashley! and i'm sure that bunny from her auntie will be a treasured 'lovey'! i really am excited for you--what a wonderful grandma you will be!!
beautiful photo of Ashley! I like that bunny! I think I know a little someone who will LOVE that bunny....gotta go back to your link of Heather's shop!
I love that photo of Ashley! She is so beautiful! The bunny is simply adorable - when I saw it I suspected it might be hand-crafted by Heather! ;-) You'll be one lucky granny, Louise! My sister-in-law is also anxious to have her baby. He should be here by October 1st! This will be grandchild number 7 for Jeremy's parents! ;-) We are the only ones who still don't have any children, but al least his sisters are making it up for us ;-)
Wow, what a cute little bunny! I want one, too! ;)
She looks radiating! I cannot believe she will be having her baby soon. Time really does fly. Seems like only yesterday you posted the picture of your sculpture with the little baby marble!
