This is my big guy, Tabby, emblazoned with a heart on his nose. Ken watched my many failed attempts to get photos of the cats today, so when I picked up the camera to take this picture, he said, "I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed again...". We know that most times the cats will get up and come put their noses against my lens, but, late in the day, I finally won one round.
what a cute guy! with an adorable nose! so glad you won the fight... showed him who's boss, huh? it seems a power struggle in always nearby when dealing with our feline friends. :P seems like you're settling in ok? get unpacked yet? that's the part i always dread. because after you unpack, then it's to the laundry, folding, etc....
What fun! Sleep well friend.... we're up and about on a bight wintry morning and a load of towels is in the machine with the new fabric conditioner!!! And they will be hanging outside in the breeze shortly!!!! Remember a conversation on this topic some months ago now. Night, night and God bless.
Good on you, Louise, for finally getting that shot. Tabby looks very contented :-) and it is a great shot og him. I'm going to post one of Rusty sleeping with head on his front paws shortly.
Another gorgeous cat!! Tabby does look like quite a big guy,I love his big white paws!!! He seems very comfi lying there, gld you could take his picture in the end!
This is why I´m so happy with digital photography, back in ´the old days´ it would cost you so much film to get that one right picture!!
Love your kitty…aaah-choo! We’re all extremely allergic to cats…but love them. This sweetie is so pretty and looks so soft; he’s probably wrapping himself around you, walking between your feet and purring so loudly you have to turn up the TV. We had one for a while, but too many trips to the emergency room and doctor’s orders…we’re a kitten-less family. *sigh* He’s a beauty!
What a noble fellow-- like the lions at the NY public library. Hey that would be a great picture for the theme: "Between the Lions" I actually have some photos from a trip to NYC but I only have 1 lion per picture so it doesn't really work. Forgive my rambling. A week of looking for lines will do that to you!
4 kitties! And a stray to boot.............your house is filled with cat-love! Are they all gray and white tabbies? I bet the reunion was a happy one. It was fun to see Ashley's growing bump and Heather's store. You are one blessed gal :o)
That's funny, Louise. My little yorkie does the same thing. Or he starts barking when I get my camera out. I think it weighs more than him, maybe. I love how you captured him high on his perch. He does have this, "Hurry up and get your shot cause I'm tired of you following me around with that thing" look.
Awww...sweet capture! I laughed when I had a visual of the cats putting their noses to the camera...and wondered if you'd ever be able to get a picture of that! :) hahahaha.....
@cupcakey...Yes, he's on the hearth. I think he finds it a cool place to lay his tummy in the summer months. I have another kitty who sits facing the screen when we have a fire there in the winter. Funny little creatures with their specific quirks!
Thank you, Louise. You are lucky to have such a great friend and caretaker. They are hard to find. I know cats are homebodies and like their routine. We are definately cat people but don't have any now. We lost 2 in our house fire and I am enjoying carpets and furniture without cathair for now.
About the fiddle-heads. You are right, I heard you can eat them. I have seen them for sale in foreign markets, but never here. You are supposed to harvest them early in spring while they still look like a fiddle-head. Our woods are full of them; I have never been brave enough to try to eat them.
Tabby looks like king of the house!
Thanks for your note. I do a lot of shopping at the market. You are right it is not just for tourists. Hope your daughter has a great trip here next week. I told her it was a must go to place to photograph.
It's funny how animals will do that, no? My greenfinch does this, too. He (or she) flies onto my lens and then I have to put her (or him) off and the game begins again. It's fun though!

I tried to read the photography article yesterday but I couldn't understand a word. So I better stick in the "normal" photography:)
And, I sent the Apple pie recipe to another Tiina so now we just wait for the photo of the cake:):)

And Louise, yes, I got the recipe from Tiina - I am going to try it on Monday, it surely sounds delicious!
Thank you for all your wonderful comments, Lousie. Made my little heart swell with happiness :)
