Many of you remember Dill, an extraordinary cat who visited our yard and home every summer. Two years ago when my daughter, Heather, visited, she laughed at the pink bows I'd put around Dill's neck and in a moment of silliness, she made him a necktie! Thus was born the inspiration for "Sweater Dudes", a line of dolls she makes for her children's boutique, Green Genes, in Chicago. When visiting her, I asked if she might recreate Dill as a memento for our Lunenburg home, and look what arrived today! I'm just delighted!
Awwww such a great honor to Dill to have his own sweater Dude....... I use to love seeing your pics of him, Today's pic of the day has put a huge smile on my face :-) a fav
@pillango35 It's a day to remember those we love... You set the wheels in motion yesterday, and I thought of you when I was putting this together! Thanks!
popping by to say Hi ! and a good day too - sweet Dill ! thank you so much for the comments and encouragements that first half of my year :-)Hope you all well
I wish I could go to Heather's store. Those sweater dudes are adorable! I'm going to be needing a baby gift in a few months. Maybe I'll order one online. We all loved Dill.
Heather's work is amazing. This is so well executed. Love it. I will need to send all my Chicago friends down to her shop. What a talent. Dill lives on in Lunenburg!
Had to mark this a fav in honor of Dill and in recognition of the cuteness of this sweater Dude. I love the whole idea of re- using materials and personalizing gifts.
Oh yes, I remember Dill and have to say he looks very dapper in his tie. And I love the sweater dudes. What a great idea. How sweet to have this gorgeous memento.
LOL!! I'm not sure which one is cuter. Ok, the real Dill gets the prize! I love the sweater dudes too! It's all just too much cuteness, really! Thanks for making me :-)
This is adorable and such a wonderful gift!! I remember Dill!!!! :) Thanks for sharing this, Louise, it really is such a nice way to remember such an awesome cat!
Of course we remember Dill and all your photos of his loveliness! So sad he had to go but I'm sure he is well loved in his new heavenly place..........the memento is wonderful, what a great tribute.
@biggirlart Beautiful!!!
When the picture opened I think the whole house could hear me exclaim " IT'S DILL"!!!!! what a treasure. Heather is providing special meaningful sweater dudes the world over
Hello Dill!
what a lovely shot of Dill and his "replica sweater dude".
How lovely of Heather to make this for you Louise.
Does she hand knit them?
I looked at her site & they are nice sweater dudes, so beautifully made.
Oh, I saw this little guy on Heather's FB page as he was on his way to you and thought it was sooooo adorable. I wished I could have been a fly on the wall and been there to see you open your gift when he arrived. :-)
@kevin365 In four + years here, this is the second comment that's made me feel so good that I can't stop smiling, and I must have a friend calligraph it for me (or something!) Too wonderfully priceless! (The other came during a long stink in the suburbs of California where most of the photos were taken in my yard and of all the animals that make themselves comfortable there! After a string of ducks, squirrels, hummingbirds, cats ... "Taleweaver" wrote: wonderful capture! are you a Disney princess? The little woodland creatures seem to flock to you!
I thought that was a Classic! And now I have Two! ♥!
...Oh good grief! While I DO like my spot in NS better than in SoCal, , it's not what I'd call "a long stink"! Let's change that to "stint"...something I put in before returning north!
