While watching the news about "Sandy" this evening, Ken and I were so saddened to hear that the Tall Ship, "Bounty" had sunk off the east coast in today's storm. It had been built in Lunenburg, and we enjoyed our visit aboard this summer http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2012-08-03.
Our thoughts are with the crew members and the brave people who went into the storm to save them. Unfortunately not everyone made it back safely.
It's just heartbreaking. My friends are having a good time giving me flack about this storm being "Sandy" and all but stories like this sort of punch a hole in the teasing. The pictures are wonderful and it's great to see you here m'dear!
So nice to hear from you Louise and see you are back home safe. The U.S. eastern coast has really taken a beating in this storm. The rescue team that saved the lives of the crew were amazing. Sadly the captain is still missing. We were forecasted to be in the path of the storm. So far we have been spared. Hope the eastern provinces are as lucky..
What a wonderful collage, Louise. I thought I had seen some photos of this ship on your project. So sad for the crew and the captain - hope he survived somehow and will be found. It's a wonderful looking ship.
@kmackenzie The Bluenose re-launched yesterday... You might enjoy my current photo & video of the neighbourhood you love so well! @suelbiz47 you asked for another video...
