Looks can be deceiving... This is Lunenburg's Bluenose Lodge http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-05-23 , a stunningly beautiful inn! We have friends who once owned and ran it (some time ago) and in recent years, the owners added a spacious, beautiful dining room. Last year, we had brunch with all our neighbours...and we were the only ones there. Last night we went to dinner at 7:30 with friends...and we were the only ones there... The chef is from a restaurant that was a favourite of ours...the food was fabulous! It was deduced that possibly because it's not in the center of town (though no more than a three block walk) it doesn't pick up the tourist trade. And many Lunenburg locals tend not to eat out. I fear we'll lose another excellent restaurant...they can't possibly run a dining room with "so little" patronage on a Saturday night!
Too bad... So sad... People here have no idea what they're missing!
I`n blessed by /with Ina that loves cooking. And I`ve been so many times disappointed by bad food or bad service I won`t take a chance any more .
( than I don`t count the cost , because if it`s good that`s my last worry)
That is a shame. We have a local place here as well. They are from the Ukraine, a wonderful couple who we have gotten to know over the last year or so. He puts out the best meals, and wonderful breakfasts that we usually enjoy on Sundays. He has been trying for so long to build up his business, but I fear he will eventually be forced to move or close.
You have created an Edgar Allen Poe vision. Love this shot. Too bad about it not being filled, but so glad you are helping them keep open until they find their niche!
@seattle We were pretty happy to be their customes and enjoy the delicious meal! I'm thinking of pulling together my neighbors when everyone's back in mid-September and going for a brunch again...we had a wonderful time before we went to CA last fall! Thanks for the fave and liking my photo
The cool tones here really do give this an eery feeling! I do hope the restaurant can survive. Such a tough business, even in the best of economic times :(
What a wonderfully moody shot of this beautiful lodge!! I'm sorry to hear that it's not doing a lot of business - particularly if the chef is so good...
