Brought individual quiche for brunch with neighbours we seldom see as we're all so busy. I said we'd make it super simple so we could visit...which we did for the next 3 hours...
Building continued on the back deck and it's looking amazing. There'll be a hold up until mid-week for the electrician to do some wiring, but it's going to be worth waiting for.
The afternoon was sunny and warm, so Ken painted the front door and steps...
We decided to go across the way to the golf course for supper . No matter that the food isn't spectacular...it's got the best view in town! I took this single shot and IMHO it looks to me like a postcard. Little wonder we think Lunenburg's such a gorgeous little town! (How about all those marvelous colours...and yes, Richard, the ubiquitous "Lunenburg Red" ...)
Back home, Fred greeted us and ran up the steps and inside with us. (We're eating with friends at his owner's restaurant tomorrow night...I'd love to tell them of Fred's duel life...but of course I won't...)
He curled up in my lap awhile as I was typing...he's now asleep on the couch.
(signed) "Having a great time! Wish you were here! xoxxx, Louise, Ken and Fred"
@hbdaly I think you're right! There are card-and-photo companies that do that sort of thing...might keep that in mind... Thanks for liking your Lunenburg-Twin!
@kwind Yes, Nova Scotia... I was adoring the photos of your coast that you posted, so sending you pictures from the Maritimes (our adopted-6-month-a-year home!)
I so love your stories. And of course your postcard-perfect-pics!
Fred reminds me so much of my mom's cat (both late unfortunately) ... but that's a story for another day! ;)
@sharleen Thanks Sharleen! We were just up to the Bay of Fundy, so I checked the tag to see who else had photographed it. I was delighted to come across your photos!
What a great view of the harbour! I think I have a reverse view shot of the golf course. I posted it for you to see if you could verify for me. :) http://365project.org/jgoldrup/365/2014-06-30
Having a quick peek on the pp and I saw Lunenburg, saw obviously knew who took it - congrats. Great shot! fav. I have been too busy for pics this week, so looking forward to getting some today I hope :)
very cool. reminds me of my grandmas collection of mini wooden buildings. I forgot what they were called, but this photo makes me think of her and makes me :).
So, so lovely....so glad you have found a place you can truly call home!! I can just tell that this feeds your soul! Love the Lunenberg red....and, the yellow.....and, the blue, and the green!!
We stayed in a motel up on the hill across from the golf course. We had this view from our deck every evening when the sun hit the town. lovely , you have caught it just right!
@Weezilou - but this is sooooo great. can i duplicate this when we get there? but the lighting here is so beautiful and that's what makes this photograph so attractive to me. i love it!
@summerfield From the shadows (and the time) I can see it was around the Golden Hour. The trees weren't bare yet. That will be quite close to the date you'll be here... and it's just a 5 minute drive from the house to this spot...
