New Best Friends

At daybreak we can hear the Jays calling for breakfast, so I asked Ken to accompany me this morning. My intention was t take photos of the blue jays in the leafless tree with the first morning light turning the scene red, but in that moment, the jays began swooping to the feeder, too hungry to be bothered by human presence. I would have loved to have used a photo with more birds in it, but I chose this better one of Ken.

You get the idea...
cute shot! i like how everything is a shade of blue!

Very nice with him in it. No way the Jays here would allow that!

Wonderful! First thing I saw as I left the house this morning was a blue jay by the sunflower seed, but he flew off immediately...he must not have been as hungry as yours!

I just love this scene Louise! He has a great smile and they do seem to be looking at each other. Thank you, too, for your wonderful support in comments lately about the fire. I really appreciate it!

That is amazing Louise. The Jays around here are so skittish and it is very difficult getting a photo of them

Well chosen. The personal connection is lovely but I also like the lines and shapes of the background

@ethelperry Yu have no idea how far reaching that comment will go! Rick, who's been remodeling for us is the dearest, most humble young man...he works tirelessly, and accepts nothing from himself but a job well done and beautifully finished (artistically). I'll tell him you noticed his work (every board you see here!), and I can already see his smile! Thank you for that!

Wonderful shot! I like how they are looking at each other. Super clarity!

As soon as the weather starts turning a bit cooler the jays are out in full force. But, I have to say, your jay looks so small there. The two that come to my feeder I think are on steroids! ;)

Forgot to ask - when do you guys return back home?
November 18th, 2014
Love composition and processing. I love all the shades of blue.

@kass Oh...I don't want to talk about it! We "return back home" next June... but if you mean "head out", it's December 10th...Chicago for a week, then California and Christmas with the west-coast clan...
