Curled Up with a Good Book & a Cat on a Rainy Sunday Afternoon
I thought the Post Office might be a good place to put up a photo of "Dinah" to see if someone recognizes her (all the mail for this neighbourhood goes there).
lol! Looks like shes about to slide off! What's going to happen when you move away? Btw we've just got into Breaking Bad....at a glance ken looks a bit like Walt here!
@Cherrill Fill Me IN!! I haven't seen the show... Looks like whom?
In exchange, shortly before I took this photo (as, of course, I took many), she was cleaning herself. Now I can't attribute this quote to Ken...I know he heard it, and quotes it...makes me laugh every time...
"Cats aren't clean... They just covered in cat spit." OK...laughing at my own jokes again!
I thought the entire planet had seen Breaking Bad...except for us!! We are in the middle of working our way through the whole series! Walt is one of the main characters who is a chemistry teacher but finds himself cooking meth as a sideline!!! say no more.......
@Cherrill When you wrote "Wait here", I thought you were saying to "wait..." and you were off to look up his name! OK, will be curious now to check it out! Ken still watches tv but I turned it off in August 2 (or possibly 3) years ago, so I see nothing! I'm much happier and more relaxed! I do NOT, however, seem to have gained additional hours in my day!
@lyndemc "Guest", yes! She fell in love with the grandkids and visa versa... They left and she didn't! I have every intention of tracking down her family, but keep getting sidetracked...know how that goes? Yep...any day now...
@denisef58 Thanks so much Denise! Ken called me to come in with the camera, knowing I want this photo. Turns out it was the only subject I photographed yesterday, so am quite happy to have this comfortable photo of him and his adoring cat (that isn't his!)
Oh, I love this so much! Cat is clutching on for dear life! But oh so dearly wants human contact. What's Ken reading? Birdsong? What does he think? He looks engrossed!
@Cherrill OK... "l" on "Walt" looked to me like "i" as in "Wait"...Confusing?! So I googled it, and yes, I do see a resemblance! No so much in real life without the mustache... Many have said he resembles "Tom Selleck" (suits me just fine!) and if you recall Karen Hurd (Hwy 61) @hwy61, she always said he looked like Clarke Gable and used to call him that! He may be getting a bit long in the tooth for the role, however... ;)
@kwiksilver You Win! I TOLD him someone would ask the same of the book! Yes, Birdsong and he's quite enjoying it. He most enjoys historic novels, and from his one-sentence synopsis to me, I think that might fill the bill! (And THANKS for enjoying the photo! Did you see my first response to Cherrill?)
tom selleck, eh? yeah, i see some similarities there. birdsong...must download it. i finished reading my 5 books in five weeks (they were long 500-800 pages and i had other things to distract me) and i'm itching to read another epic novel. nice once, lady.
Looks like a wonderful lazy Sunday. Can't comment on 'Walt'as I haven't seen Breaking Bad but whoever Ken looks like it's obvious the cat adores him. Hope you find his owner before you have to leave
I could not believe no one had FAVed this photo yet amidst all these comments!!! Ken does not look like Walt, and I hope he never shaves his head, either!! I can definitely see Tom Selleck, though! And, sweet little Dinah seems to know exactly what she wants, and that appears to be Ken's lap and your company! If she does have a family I doubt she is missing them much. I will wait for the evolution of this feline saga! ;-))
They look so comfy and peaceful. I hope Dinah has a loving home to go to when you leave.
Also, I was addicted to Breaking Bad. Almost went to a 12 step program but then I thought, nah. So I started watching all the episodes again. Love the transformation of Walter White (Bryan Cranston).
