Today was another of those "Long List" days, starting with the Farmer's Market at 8 AM, filling in the day, out and about, and coming home from a concert in a private home tonight followed by a dinner made for all the attendees afterward...truly amazing!
You've been so sweet to leave me the comments I've enjoyed reading, but tonight, exhausted, I'm posting this, SOOC except for the requisite adjustment in RAW. That WAS the colour of the water today, and this was one of the few locations I' photographed that didn't have fall colour! It's getting so beautiful here!
I've got photos of gorgeous scenery and no time to post them! I'm hosting a restaurant luncheon tomorrow for a couple of friends as my friend, Enid, returns to Australia Sunday...
No, never, not as long as you are at the center of all the activity at this fabulous town you call home half the year!! My friends and I used to repeat this saying like a mantra when we were in college and beyond: "I'll sleep when I'm dead!"...and, thanks to the internet, now I find out that it is a REALLY dark movie!! Have fun my friend, enjoy every moment....there will be time for other things, including commenting here!....I love the light in this by the way....it just says Crisp Autumn Day!
This is definitely a beautiful Nova Scotia image and I love the dark water colour. I took a couple of water shots yesterday too. Keep enjoying life and taking images of your memories along the way. :)
@novab I'm on "Nova Scotia Overload" (and loving every wonderful minute of it!) I love that you, as a Nova Scotian, you are seeing the beauty around you and recording it as well!
@stray_shooter Not a bad idea as a late-autumn birthday gift for a friend who likes to drive himself crazy doing these things over the winter! AND, Shutterfly is having a very nice special over the weekend! Good timing with that suggestion! Good timing Ron! (Turned in at 1 AM this morning... 8AM and I'm back at it...)
i was photographing a mountain lake that exact color last weekend and asked a woman who was doing the same, what do you call that color? she said ..gorgeous.
@chard Unless you've seen this color for yourself, it's difficult to convince anyone you didn't mess around and pump it up! As you know, it's not necessary! Gorgeous, indeed!
@aglennc@kelly2@radiogirl@kwind Thank you all! Anita has been here and visited us. I think she'd agree this pretty well captures a ubiquitous Nova Scotia water scene of "Boathouse on the Water"!
@novab@Weezilou We'd return to Lunenburg area and Nova Scotia in a heartbeat. And Louise and Ken are wonderful tour guides and hosts! And this is a gorgeous capture... This I said that in my comment above too.
@aglennc Thanks again, Anita! We don't want for visitors coming to see and photograph all this themselves! And I love having the opportunity to show people around!
do you think that if i concentrate hard enough i'd get teletransported back to lunenburg and capture this incredibly beautiful scene myself? no, it didn't work. :-P
Sounds like a really tough day...all that fun can really be exhausting!! I'm imagining the wonderful shots you've been able to take -- you are in such a gorgeous part of the country. Love, love, love the deep blue of the water! And the hint of fall from the vegetation surrounding the rocks in the foreground.
@taffy@joysfocus@summerfield I only just wrote to Nova that I was sending my recent viewers to her photo to see that I didn't lie about this color! It was truly spectacular! (What's the poem about: "...if all the sea was ink"... One of you will know! Here's Nova's http://365project.org/novab/365/2015-10-10
@taffy ; ) Thanks m'friend! When I finally die of exhaustion, just tell everyone I was having the time of my life along the way! @joysfocus (you, too, Joy!)
@summerfield well, hopeful it's no time soon, but I'll make everyday so good (if at all possible) that that statement can be said even if I'm 101! (And I met a lovely lady who had just had her 100th birthday and she was at the concert the other night! I want that to be me, too!)
@kwiksilver Thanks, Gillian, for all the notes. Actually, this has been a wonderfully quiet day in which I'm catching up on many things! (I don't even need to get dressed until we go to dinner at the neighbours! ...being able to spend the day in my bed clothes is a guilty pleasure!)
I'll be up and running again tomorrow with plans at the ready!
The colour is stunning! I need to sit down and rest after reading about your busy day! Keep it up Louise - you are always so full of zest for life - an inspiration! Fav!
