Grandson, Ashton, calls all white horses by that name since he began riding the Lunenburg carriage with Charlie when he was two. When we spotted this beauty, I took the photo for Ashton.
The back story is that we went up the coast to a Christmas boutique, and then went for a Sunday drive... Far off the beaten path, we came upon the biggest and most gorgeous horse barn (complex) I've ever seen! In driving around the grounds, "Charlie" was one of three faces framed by the stable doorways who were there to greet us.
I'll have to research that stable; it was amazing!
@allie912 Thanks, Allie! I said to Ken that I can't remember when we let all "Have to do's" drop by the wayside and took off to meander for a day! What a good time we had!
@eyesmile Oh Thank You Gena! For me, horses have been the most difficult animal to photograph, and I would seldom post one. I knew I had something special the moment I took this...that framing certainly helped!
@veengupta Thank you Veena. After trying for years to get a good photo of a horse, this may be my best effort! I'm glad you like it and thanks fot the fave!
You were really able to drive around the grounds and get that close to the horses? That is amazing! Bet you couldn't do that in California! I love special sayings in families and private jokes. I think it binds the family together and is so good for children. Have a good day, Louise. I hear it is warm in NS!
@stownsend IS is amazingly warm...high 50s, but the wind has been blowing fiercely since late evening! ALL the leaves are gone now and the intermittent rain blows sideways! We're dur to have a significant temp drop by evening... Could *snow* be in the forecast?!
