Being the Photographer Can be a Thankless Task ...

I just have to remember to lower my expectations when I ask for a nice family photo!

He's five and thinks his assignment is to be the family cut-up!
There is always one Louise! My great nephew Michael always does it to me - a great family portrait - and there he is with his tongue! I love it though as it shows they have a sense of humour and naughtyness even though it drives me mad! Now would you change that? Great capture of your family having fun!

What a fantastic family photo, the five year old makes the picture with his mischievous personality!

Gorgeous family photo. The younger one will soon be copying his older mischievious brother

He will probably do that until he's 15 and then he will not even look at the camera! Great to see the fun and laughter!

Lovely, very natural. They love to do this until a few years later you start to get all sorts of odd hand signals in every photo! Enjoy them.

Wonderful shot.

It's these shots that capture a viewer more than a posed one. And in 20 years, when they are looking at them, their memories will be fond. :)

@pamknowler @judithdeacon "Mischievous" says it perfectly! No, I wouldn't change a thing...the photo is true to the personalities and the moment!

@maggiemae @janm *LOVED* the comments from each of you! It will be fun to see the evolution through the years! And what a laugh I got about "the strange hand signals"! He's made some of those moves already as well...where do they get this stuff?!
April 11th, 2016
@kelly2 You've got that right! Already he's Ashton's little shadow, and I have little doubt he's very proud of himself when he can be "just like him"!

@darylo That was written so eloquently, Daryl! Thank you for that. Clearly, I do feel the same, and I thought this might bring back memories for others who raised little boys!

@cruiser @nickspicsnz @gilbertwood @teiko @gaylewood Thank you all for weighing in with your comments! As any 5-y-o boy can, he'll drive us nuts one minute , and have us in hysterics the next! He's a little keeper!

What a wonderful shot Louise, if anything the face he's making makes the entire shot all the more special! It enhances the energy of the whole photo - already present with the moving water and your pov!

Beautiful portrait! Wonderful family! Cool grandchildren, funny tongue sticking out!
April 11th, 2016
Great POV! Looks like fun!
