@louannwarren I'm delighted! That was quick! On Kauai we photographed roosters all day; they were everywhere! Of course, I'll think of you any time I see one now, and you're likely to continue to receive them! Thanks for the kind words about Posh! She's an easy snap!
Of course you know this is a definite fav for me! Such an adorable capture! Around here the squirrels, deer, and birds are all spoiled...and I love it! It was last year around this time that you suggested I put out some sunflower seeds for the squirrels and it has been a daily event since then. :-)
@elkereturns OMG, it DOES look like that!!! HOWEVER, there are no *starving* critters in this yard! In actuality, they're factored into the monthly budget. Don't mean to spoil a good story, but she had plenty to eat there, but I was in need of a photo and copy!
@gardenfolk LOVE the notion! I have no shortage of "fancy China" my daughters will never want, so I should mix it up a little in the final days for some fresh photos! Peanut butter on sunflower sandwiches, Miss Posh?
@gaylewood What a peach you are, Gayle! I couldn't be more delighted that I was able to share how to make a squirrel happy! I had a laugh at myself last night... I'd put out sunflower seeds and shelled peanuts in the dish as they come pretty early each morning. It was dusk, and the birds came in and began eating. I said to Ken, Darn those birds, eating the squirrel's food..." and then I laughed to realize I'm the antithesis of the brd folks who want to get rid of those pesky squirrels! (Actually, there's a big dish of birdseed for the ducks, and I wish they'd eat that as, here, the sunflower seeds are pricier. Don't know why...they're not at all in NS, but we don't have squirrel visitors there...the jays get them!
@littleconnie ...anthropomorphising her, she's like a little old dowager with a pinched face, looking down her nose as she summons her servants! (Something like @gardenfolk CC said!) She only needs pince nez glasses perched on her nose!
