We've flown to Newfoundland for a first visit in the hope of seeing "Icebergs" "puffins" and "Whales"! How remarkable to spot the icebergs as we were flying toward St, John's! When I say they're easy to identify. it's that turquoise melt that they trail! By comparison, the islands are brown and the wind-whipped surf looked like "icing around the edges" until we were down closer before landing! The weather was sunny and picture perfect from takeoff to landing, so it was a delight to see it all so beautifully!
We thought the weather would be VERY cold, but it's quite reasonable this afternoon, albeit very windy! We're about to go out to see the town and start taking photos.
The sun doesn't even set until 8:58 tonight, so we'll have light for many hours more!
