I'm months behind, but if I don't post this newsworthy event today, it'll be rather ho-hum by Christmas!
It was only at the last minute that I decided to give it a go, so I pointed one camera at the sky and another at the reflection in the pool. When the pool water had too much movement, I set out a shallow dish of water and came away with the likes of this image. It was unique to be out there and experience it with the rest of you across this side of the globe!
Of noto to those of you who fondly remember Osia @panthera who always posted photos of red sunsets from the Southern California Coast, I heard from her (since we share the same Aug 19th birthday) that she and her husband were driving to Oregon to celebrate her special day and to photograph the eclipse. She'll come back with something wonderful, to be sure!

i like how yours came out with all those magic thingies all around.aces! we had a little haze in toronto but thankfully, the predicted 80% chance of clouds didn't materialize. i came back to the office smelling like a horse that just lost a stake race! :-D
Happy Late Birthday!!! Love your photo. So smart and creative to shoot the reflection. I'm not that bright. Glad you are. You're not the only one behind in posting photos. For me, it's partially the darned stories. They take so long to write, I use up all the little spare time I have set aside..
@mbrutus Don't stop doing what you do best! You have your followers! I too am wordy, and often have to stop myself and draw back so I can fit more into the day! I can't begin to tell you all I have on my To-Do list at present as that, too would take time and not be all that interesting to anyone! I do miss my friends here when I get busy as I love the interaction with folks like you! Thanks, Dear Marshall, for the birthday greetings! I'm grateful for all the future birthdays I can amass!
@Weezilou Thanks, Louis. I must say that I have never thought of you as too wordy. Probably because you always seem to have so much to say and so engagingly, always in such good spirit. But I do intend to keep on, not to worry. You do so, too. And please do give my best to your Ken.
@mbrutus See,, there you are... THAT's why you need to continue to write; you do it so well...and people like me are touched by your kind words! In the broad sense, about a year into 365, I was struck by the quality of good writers here, adding a further dimension to photographic skills that abound! Would that there was more time to read, write and view it all, but alas! Your message to Ken will be delivered with thanks for thinking of him. It's his good fortune to be asleep while I'm yet unable to turn off my brain and all the events of the day!

@Weezilou BTW - I saw Jay Butterfield recently and he asked whether we were going to have any more SoCal gettogether in the near future. I told him I would check with you. So please do keep us in mind for your next outing.
@taffy Correct! Since she and I share the same birthday, I knew I'd hear from her though we haven't been in touch in months! I'm quite sure we'll either be in touch by phone or get together while we're in CA until Oct 5. She went into overdrive taking classes and really preparing to sell her work, and I'm sure she's been successful (her husband sells jewelry at specialty craft fairs, so she has the venue to set up, if not more). I'm really to hear how she's doing, and she's so full of energy, she's sure to lift my spirits and brighten the day with her presence alone!
