Have I already told this story before? We were ready to take her back to California with us last winter when, as we were leaving, she dashed away and wasn't seen by any of my friends over the winter! (Here was the story of her return in early July https://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2017-07-04
Once again, we've taken her to the vet where she's been given a clean bill of health, but she seems to be getting old. Once more, she has a plane ticket. The trip gets tricky in that we'll spend Christmas with the grandkids in MA, but they can't have Buttercup as they've found they're allergic to cats. From there, the intent is to get her to California where she can move in with our other cats and can be cared for by our house & pet sitter.
Things might be easier if I had an inkling where she spent the winter last year!
Well wherever she stayed last winter, it could not possibly be as fabulous as your California home. She’s a sweet kitty, I bet she gets on that plane this year!
@louannwarren@littleconnie LOL...we keep picking up the tab for her vet bills and are contemplating what price we are willing to pay for her carrier (and a harness, too, I think, given her propensity for running!). We've reserved her two plane tickets for a visit to Massachusettes and then home to California, but should she somehow back out of the deal, we'll be reimbursed for those! She's really sweet and a very affectionate cat; I just want to be assured she's safe over the winter months...
First off, this is a wonderful photo. Even without your story it is solid gold! Secondly, I read the story of Buttercup and am amazed. She must have been in a safe place and hopefully she was happy. She is so lucky to have caring owners such as yourselves to care for her. Anxious to hear the rest of the story as it progresses:) Fav on the photo!
Louise, I think you and Ken need to bring her home to California....... She's beautiful And maybe to be a house kitty with her passion for disappearing?
What a sweet looking kitty with pretty markings. Kitty cats don’t show their age. I thought she looked young! I hope you can get her back to California to live with you...one lucky kitty because she has chosen you! :)
Oh I love the beautiful Buttercup!! I do hope all the plans come together this year and she actually makes it with you to California. She deserves a warm winter with you and Ken!!
She sounds like one of those bigamous cats, with two families each unknown to each other! Good luck with the upcoming travels that hopefully will include Buttercup.
@taffy !! She *had to have been* cared for by someone over the winter, but she lives with us around the clock since her return! If she's a bigamist (and I once discovered I had one out in CA!), she has zero sense of loyalty to the family that kept her warm all winter!
Buttercup is certainly a sweetheart! She obviously loves you and feels safe with you or she wouldn't have returned and stayed with you. I hope everything works out with her trip to California. I'm sure she will love the warm weather! :-)
Lovely shot of her!
Great shot of this cutty.
