I promised you all a photo of the babies when they hatched, so I wanted to post one before we're away for a week! As I took it, I thought I saw only one, but the other is resting it's beak beneath the first one. I left this image at 13MB if you want to download and enlarge it for a better look, though I'm not sure how much better it will be. That location is shady and I wanted to get this and leave before I gave Mama a heart attack! Their eyes aren't open yet, so there's a possibility they'll be popping out of the nest in a week!
Off in the morning to look for toucans and howler monkeys...and maybe a jaguar and sloth if I'm lucky!
...I almost forgot...someone is sure to ask... The "mess" on the leaf is their bathroom so they don't make a mess in the nest! (How do they *know*?!!) Isn't Nature Grand?

@digitalrn Yes, Rick; they're baby hummingbirds! Put your thumb and the tip of your index finger together, and the opening for the nest is no bigger than that!! Every time I find a nest in the yard I hold my breath that they can grow fully and fledge before they fall out!
@pamknowler Just starting to upload...this place is so much like Hawaii...beautiful!!! The heat before the rain was pretty oppressive...you WOULD NOT have liked it...Ken and I kept saying so!!!
@pamknowler Even the photos Ken took of me didn't show well the sweat the poured off my face as my glasses steamed up! People pointed me out and commented in Spanish, so I think they were surprised when I could reply in Spanish that I was really hot and the temperature was sweltering! Then we'd all laugh! I'm sure people were telling their friends about this dripping wet lady they passed by today! I hope my clothes will dry enough to pack tomorrow!!! And WHY no one else was sweating like I was, I have NO idea! Not even Ken!!!
@Weezilou OMG Louise I would have died! Not good at all in hot humid conditions! My face goes very red and I drip! We would have made a lovely pair! Lol! So not fair that others remain cool and don’t flush and sweat like us!
