Celebrate the way the Fishermen Do! by Weezilou

Celebrate the way the Fishermen Do!

Last weekend, when I photographed the fireworks, a Christmas celebration was taking place down on the docks and the lights on the trees and boats were lit. Having avoided the crowds, Ken and I went at dusk to get photos and we had the full stretch to ourselves; it was magical!

Once again I murmured, "This is SO NOT Southern California!"
They do this in Rockland too

What a splendid sight to see. Nice that you didn't have to fight with the crowds.

Such a wonderful idea - the lobster pots look perfect lit up in this way! You were able to get such good shots with no people getting in the way!

@365karly1 Not everyone would know they're called "pots"! I sense you haven't spent your entire life in Montana! Thanks for your message and enjoying the photo!

@Weezilou My sister was a fisherwoman in Alaska for several years and she fished part of the time with pots:) Really enjoyed this photo!

@365karly1 Additional information about our friends here is such a nice addition to getting to know about one another! Thanks for sharing that! What a life!

@Weezilou I have a hard time staying awake after 8 and Rockland is for me over 2 hours away. I will stick to photographing the Nubble light all decorated. LOL sorry

What a great idea, and a great shot!

@merrelyn The "new style" lobster pots were used for this quaint-stylized tree! It's something of a dockside tradition!

@gardenfolk LOL! Thanks! Everything's beginning to pick up speed as the stay is coming to an end; we leave on the 19th! Time to put away the winter boots and get out the sandals again!

@Weezilou Oh...I thought you might be staying for Christmas but if family won’t be there, neither will you!❤️

This is fabulous! Such great "thinking outside the box", and so fortunate that you were there to capture it and share with us!

This is so great! I take it you are still in Nova Scotia - will you be there for Christmas as well?
Very festive shot - and so not like Southern California!

@farmreporter We had a wonderful stay for the duration of our time in Lunenburg, but arrived back in California on Wednesday. I love having photo memories to last through the winter until we return next summer! Christmas will be up the coast with "Our California Kids" this year. Merry Christmas, Wendy!
