While out shopping only 12 miles from our house, the snow began to drop from the sky in large, wet clumps, each a riot of snowflakes within! Again and again I had Ken pull over for it was a sight not to be missed! This scene may not have shown the falling snow as well as some of the others, but it reminded me of a chromacolour postcard from the very early 1900s!
While it wasn't Sunday, that expression must have come from those early days when gas was inexpensive and the family got together to enjoy the scenery instead of sitting at the computer!
Oh how I loved our Sunday drives in Lubbock in the ‘50’s. This is a perfect scene to represent that phrase. Memories! I always had my Scotty “Moe” by my side in the back seat, and just before starting home dad would stop at the Zesto stand so we could each have a soft serve ice cream. Moe loved his ice cream best of all.
