Catalina has carefully begun to open to tourism again, and we found ourselves sharing meal conversations with the few other guests from around Orange County, as we were, and one couple from San Diego. We're all travelers, but this was the loveliest place "Away" for a few days. Drinks and cocktails were served after 4:30, and it was welcome pampering after so many months at home!
I neglected my sixth sense and just read that CC Folk was also on the Island. I regret I didn't say something before we left because now that the island is beckoning people to return, and knowing she loves it there as we do, "Just Maybe..." Missed Opportunity... Maybe Next Time!
Well, I know where you stayed, Louise! I tried to make a lunch reservation at Mount Ada’s and they were not taking any during Covid. I was so hoping to see Bigfoot, the resident kitty cat again. I am heartbroken that we were so close yet missed each other! I was there from Thursday through Tuesday. I took a friend with me who had never been to Catalina. I was her tour guide along with a woman that I met there just last September. She invited me to come and stay at her place because we bonded over dogs/animals and art/photography. We had so much fun and she gave us water color art classes in the evening.
@danette ...but at the same time, "casual"...such a nice change! (Wine doesn't sit well, so I was offered other choices, and when he came to Champagne, well, "Bingo!")
@gardenfolk We fell in love with Mt Ada and the location after a lunch there last trip! Yes, Bigfoot is still making the rounds...such a great cat! We overlapped by 3 days! I wonder if our paths ever crossed... Nothing like "living local" and with an artist, no less! I hope you plan to share some of your classes/classwork!
