This Island does have it's history as a destination for many of yesterday's well-known celebrities. Without looking at a list I can rattle off Charlie Chaplin, Peter Lawford, Paulette Goddard, Ronald Reagan, and even an aspiring Marilyn Monroe. The Chicago Cubs also came there for Spring Training.
Nowadays, for the price of a boat ticket, one can arrive early to spend a day on the beach, parasail, ride in a glass-bottom boat, or take an island bus tour, to name a few activities. I'd hoped to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit at their excellent art museum, but the galleries are still closed.
However... as the sun sets, it's nice to be able to stay awhile, relax, and enjoy the view...
@casablanca Oh, how rude of me to have forgotten! You and Pam are both so desirous of a visit there, but only if we link arms as we sashay in! It pales in size by comparison to Chatsworth, but it does provide lodging for a few at a time and marvelous food with attentive service. In my book, worth every penny! (We may return before year's end...are you onboard the boat with us?)
@Weezilou Oh you have me dreaming now!! When you are home, you should find an email I sent with our news on.......oh I could wish! Click my red shoes like Dorothy...... :)
Louise, I do love this photo!! I am going to try to come back to 365 even if I don't have nice photos. I miss a place with nice people and FB doesn't offer much of that anymore. After what my friend wrote about the Arizona/California sunsets I decided to say goodbye for a while. Maybe until after the election!
