*GR(ea)T* Gifts!

In the past two weeks the back of the house was torn off to add some new windows ... I have some photos that I've yet to upload. I was amazed at the layers that had been added and the changes made over the years! And then, out came the beautiful, rusty, hand-forged nails! As I was scooping themup, the builder said I should have been here when he redid the bathroom over the winter!

Well, after going over the ground with an industrial-strength magnet, I've got a bag full of these nails, a hinge and one wonderful spoon, corroded with patina!

Thank you, House, for these wonderful gifts!

I'm late in posting this photo as we had the back wall of the house removed... http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2014-08-08
How neat! I like your arrangement of them.

Buried treasure! How old do you think they are?

@allie912 My art friends and I are so excited to have these! I see winter projects ahead when I'm back in CA|! The house was built in 1888, so that pretty well date stamps them, I suppose...

This is a great shot of some of the "stuff" found in your old -- about to be almost new -- house. Found anything valuable within the walls!?

What you`ve lost in a house you will find in that house. ( a Dutch saying)
Those nails are great but take care of the spoon. The green color says there is copper in it . And copper corrosion is poisonous.

@pyrrhula Yes, I thought it might be silver plate over copper. I would never clean it...I love its "oldness!" It's just to look at now!
