...little unfolds in a leisurely manner here in town! Before this event, we'd seen two films at the DocFest and went to see the Schooner Races (that were something of a bust, but not for want of trying!)
I was so happy a time allotment was left between films so that this was available to those who wished to attend! I had prepared an appetizer and delivered it early, so it was fun to see my friends as the event got underway. That amazing food was prepared by local volunteers, three of whom I know to be exceptional cooks in their own right. Not only do they cook, but serve those who've paid for an event ticket. I love that in a small town, so many people pitch in, work together and become fast friends!
I picked the people photos for a special reason... Upper left is Jean, the first person I met in Lunenburg. She is the friend of my Australian friend, Enid, and she invited us to come for a visit.
Lower left are Cindy and Adam Dial, now real estate agents who owned & ran The Mariner King. We stayed with them for 11 days when looking for a property to purchase, and they broke open a bottle of champagne and welcomed us to town when we bought the Purple House! (Adam is also a Wine Sommelier) Upper right are Ellen & Gill...Gill I've known from the outset, and Ellen, I've just recently come to know, but I'm excited to be on her team as she's bringing some exciting events to town soon!
This was a wine tasting with hor d'oeuvres that proceeded an art auction. I left bids on a number of silent auction items and was happy to get two of them! All this took place on the third floor of The Academy...
See why we're happy here? Any questions? Can't stop to talk just now, however... We have another movie to attend in a half hour!
A great collage to show us this event. (and the nice people with you)
